SILENCE

Selena's eyes shot open as she looked around but she couldn't see anything, her eyes were covered with blindfold. Selena had no idea how long she had been here, she guessed it must have been hours. Selena tried to get up but her legs were tied together to her hands. 

"Who's there?" Selena screamed out. She couldn't clearly remember what happened, but one thing she knew for sure was that someone kidnapped her. It couldn't be the agency because they would have killed her by now, but who would want to kidnap her? 

Selena tossed and turned she couldn't move because of the way her hands and legs were tied, but she still tried her best to loose free. 

Selena heard steps, clicking of heels.

'A lady?' Selena thought and she thought this was all a joke, how is it that a lady was the one responsible for her kidnapping. Selena paused with her movements and watied silently for the heels to get closer. 

"I see you are awake, took you long enough" The lady said as she squatted in front of Selena. 

Selena recognized the voice, even with the blindfold on, Selena could tell who the lady was.

"Diana?" Selena asked with a surprised tone. 

"At your service" Diana replied. 

"Why did you kidnap me?" Selena asked but even she knew the answer to that question. Damien kidnapped Diana and tortured her for days, maybe it's time for payback. 

"Well your husband kidnapped me first so I thought it would be nice to return the favour" Diana said as she got up and leaned on the brick like table behind Selena. 

"Did you escape?" Selena asked. Few days ago, she saw Diana dangling on a rope, bleeding and screaming in pain. Now Diana was standing in front of her, Selena didn't want to believe that Damien was the one who let her go, the man couldn't do that.

"What do you think?" Diana asked back. 

"So how long do you plan to keep me here?" Selena asked, right now she had to find a way to get Diana to set her loose because no one was going to come save her. Damien was probably in his mansion having Dinner. 

"Long enough, at least long enough so your husband gets angry and comes in here raging like a beast" Diana spoke followed by a scoff. 

"Don't worry, he's not coming " Selena said as she stopped struggling and then she also leaned on the brick behind her, it was hard, she wondered what it was.

"Oh, you guys had a fight" Diana said and one could tell she was interested in knowing what happened. "Well I don't really care, if he doesn't come tonight then he might come some other night" Diana said . 

"Why do you want him to come? what will you gain from all of this? if you are trying to make him mad then you should try stealing his cars or taking his shares, kidnapping me is not going to make him mad" Selena spoke like she was very sure of what she said. 

"Well we'll see" Diana said, from her tone one could tell that she already knew what was going to happen. "There's a bottled water at your side, and a burger pack" Diana said as she walked away. 

"How generous" Selena said. She could clearly see that Diana was mocking her, it was impossible for Selena to eat the burger, her eyes were closed making it impossible for her to see and her hands were tied up, eating was impossible. 

"Naive" Diana said as she walked out of the place. 

Selena listened till she could no longer hear any sound of heels clicking, Selena sighed as tears rolled down her cheek. She didn't know exactly why she was crying, was it because Damien abandoned her or because she was tied up in the middle of nowhere.

Selena couldn't understand Diana's motive, she didn't kidnap for ransom then why? Diana had said she wanted to see Damien angry, but that was stupid. Selena could tell that Diana was hiding something, there was a reason for her doing this but she didn't want to disclose the reason. 

Selena closed her eyes as she tried to meditate, one thing she learnt from Diana while they were still at the agency, Diana would always tell her to embrace the silence. Somehow there was always answers in the silence, Selena wanted to try it out this time. 

Selena closed her eyes and took in deep breaths, she let the air out of her lungs as she relaxed. The only sense she could use now was her ears, she tried to listen to make out sounds. 

A smile formed on her face when she heard something. 'bells' Selena thought when she heard the ringing, it was distant, Selena could guess that the church bells were coming from another building, maybe be a few blocks away. 

Selena sighed again in defeat, even if she was aware of her surrounding, it was of no help to her right now. She couldn't move and her eyes were closed, all she could do now was sit still and pray for a miracle. But Selena was never the prayed type, she had no choice now, the only one who could save her was Damien, and God help her that he gets here on time.
