I Accidentally Joined The Hero's Party

Living life as a normal high school student, a girl suddenly dies due to unknown circumstances. She is reborn into a new world that seems akin to a novel she once read filled with magic, ranked monsters, and kingdoms alike. She decides to live her new life in her new home: the notorious Moon Forest peacefully and embrace her new identity Yuiji, one who is not human but a mythical creature. However as time passed, her once “calm life” turns turbulent when she meets the main protagonist of the novel, the future hero. This along with the sudden disappearance of her father and the start of the main storyline causes her to have no choice but to venture out of her “haven” and interact with the unknown. With constant run-ins with the handsome and earnest hero who is quite fascinated by her, his bumbling party members who are quite eccentric, and the looming stench of blood and war brewing along the horizon, can Yuiji find her father amidst the chaos? And if she does find him, can she keep herself sane? (Note: there may be some offensive things here so don't read if ya can't take it.)Also this cover is not mine and I will happily take it down if the owner of this art steps up :) Anyways hope you enjoy!

Passing Sentiments(2)

I looked around, making sure no one was nearby.

[Mono 5]: what if someone is nearby?….Maybe...SOMEONE IS WATCHING US RIGHT NOW!!!

"YES!"

Frankly, I sensed no one nearby. I then made a small chant and snapped my fingers. Suddenly, an orange insignia appeared before me, bursting into small particles of dust. A small cave started to take form.

It's still so cool to look at even after doing it a thousand times haha.

The magic I just used was >Barrier Release<.

This is the result of all that cramming of magic grimoires. The novel introduced a system of magic to which all living things in this world have, well not all, generally those who have Magic Cores.

A magic core is like the foundational area in which your magic gathers. How does magic gather? Well, all around the world, there are these small particles not able to be seen normally by the naked eye called "Magi-toms". To make it easier to envision, picture a glass circle or sphere at the pit of your stomach. Next, imagine small glowing particles entering that sphere. Yep, pretty simple.

Anyway, Magic cores have different sizes from small being the weakest, medium, and large! Hmm, I think there was something else as well.....I can't remember. But anyway, Magi Veins or Circuits(Think of two thick parallel cords) are connected to the magic core which extends to different parts of your body, primarily your arms and hands. Then magic is channeled through those veins annnnnd BAM!!! MAGIC!!

AHAHA YEP! quite impressive ~ buuuut it's not that simple. There are some drawbacks to Magic cores. The most important drawback would be if you overuse your magic, you suffer from "Magic Depletion" and pass out.

There are even some instances where you are comatose or even dead. Of course, the lifeline for this drawback would be the Magic core's natural instinct to recover magi-toms but….it doesn't always work.

No way in heck I'll be seeing something like that. I doubt people would stupidly overexert themselves to that degree haha!

The cave entrance was pretty small, only big enough for someone with a small figure like mine to squeeze through. "Heave Ho, Heave Ho" I chanted as I squeezed myself through making sure the basket was propped up correctly. After a little push, I slipped through quite easily.

"Infiltration successful~" ooh, what if I was a child agent! an Image popped in my head.

'I'd have a suit and bowtie and wear fancy kicks, with a little skirt, and have lots of deadly weapons! People wouldn't suspect me at all hah!'

I crawled my way forward, being mindful of the basket I had with me, I didn't want a single flower to drop. The cave was quite narrow and pitch black, but with my 40-40 vision I could practically see as if it was bright in here! After a while, the cave gradually widened, until I could stand at full height.

"Phew, FULL SPEED AHEAD" I shouted, my voice echoing in the cave.

[Mono Girls]: AYE AYE CAPTAIN!!!!

I ran forward carrying the basket in both hands instead of the little handle. A gust of wind caused my hair to blow backward. Small light started appearing as I approached, the light gradually brightening until I was met with a vast field of colorful blue and purple flowers.

[Mono 1]: Thar she be Captain!!

The field seemed endless like a sea. Blue and purple trees acted as a wall, surrounding the field in a circular perimeter. The field was covered almost entirely with purple flowers called Nemorosa, an elusive herb used in medicine(I used to have tons in stock). This place was called the "Herbal Sphere" and was very much sought out in the novel, not sure why though.

I think one of the main characters was looking for it. Many doctors, magicians, and nobles searched for this place. However, due to the danger of this area, and the labyrinth-like trees, it's pretty much labeled impossible to find by the Goldstein citizens.

My bare feet crunched on the soft grass. Just at the center of the field lay a blue statue of a woman. Both of her arms curved in the air in an arch, her dress stretched to look as if it was twirling in motion. Her eyes closed, her lips gently curving upward, she looked at peace. The woman looked as if she was dancing in a beautiful field of flowers.

As I walked, the field was silent. Only the low howl of the warm wind resounded. It felt as if the wind was gently caressing my hair in a tender motion. Small purple petals fluttered in the air, making the wind smell of medicine and grass, sweet yet subtle. The parted clouds gave way to the bright sun rays, basking the field in light.

I finally stopped directly in front of the statue, placing the basket on its pedestal. Carefully, I took out each flower one by one, decorating it. Time passed, and eventually, the decorating was done. Her head adorned in a white crown of poppies, her feet surrounded in white petals. Not even this can accentuate her beauty and atmosphere, but it was all I could do.

I made a silent prayer before looking up at her face.

"Hi mom," I said softly. I smiled.

It's been 4 long years.

4 years since my mother passed away.
