The day was perfect for strolling through Ashford Manor's beautiful gardens, with a clear sky reminiscent of a tranquil ocean. Vibrant flowers were in full bloom, adding bursts of color to the already picturesque scene.
As Mabel took a leisurely walk in the rose garden, her eyes were drawn to the pristine white roses. The scent of the flowers filled the air, enticing her to pluck one.
With delicate fingers, she reached for a rose but was soon met with the prick of a thorn. A small cry of pain escaped her lips as a drop of blood appeared on her finger.
She instinctively placed the injured finger in her mouth and sighed, the tenth sigh of the morning. The afternoon had yet to arrive, but she was already feeling bored within the manor's walls.
