"I'm not impressed." He said and Kalina guessed the laughter in his words. "Still." She returned, trying to match his amusement and completely failing. That man had a knack for annoying her, that was for sure. ¿Why? Kalina didn't know for sure. She felt a little stupid about the discovery, but there was something else. Something attracted her to him, that was undeniable.

"How do you feel about your Pair."
Kalina looked at Valian. Had she heard accurately? Was that the first thing he would ask her? Not since when she had known, nor how she had obtained the knowledge. Kal looked at him more intensely. He certainly looked furious.
"Valian, really…?"
But Valian sat up straight on the bed, and he took her by the shoulders. Thus she ended up crouching and found his incredible amber and gold eyes at her level.
"How do you feel about Ender?" The name sounded like something sour in his mouth.
