The thirdwheel?

Once they reached the dining hall, they underestimated the high peak. 

There's so many students and so crowded that Jiang Shiyi couldn't even see the front of the line. 

"How come there's so many people today," Jiang Shiyi says and starts to regret coming here. 

Ye Nanchen also didn't expect that there would be this many people. "Want to go to Tan Ji?"

Jiang Shiyi looks at the time, and shakes her head. "I don't have the time. I have another class in about an hour." 

"Nanchen? Why are you here?" Xiao Yu came to find him since he brought lunch from home for both of them, and heard that Ye Nanchen is here. 

"You're that girl from----" Xiao Yu recognized Jiang Shiyi, and figured out last time that both of them knew each other. 

"Let's go eat lunch! I brought food for us," Xiao Yu says happily. He knows that there's going to be a long line during the first few weeks here, and so he learned to bring lunch. 

Ye Nanchen looks at Jiang Shiyi to ask for her opinion, "want to come eat lunch with us?" he asks softly. 

Jiang Shiyi usually doesn't like eating with people that she doesn't know, but she also remembered him from last time. And plus, she's really hungry and so she agreed. 

They went back to the instructors' building, and Xiao Yu laid out the food in front of them. 

"Woah, did you bring your whole kitchen here?" Jiang Shiyi says as she saw the amount of food he puts out. 

Xiao Yu smiles and faintly laughs, "it's nothing. My other favorite hobby is cooking, and so I love to make different kinds of foods. Try this," Xiao Yu says and places a piece of meat in front of Jiang Shiyi's bowl. 

Jiang Shiyi accepted it and took a bite. 

Even though she's not picky with her food, this is one of the best braised pork that she has eaten. 

"This is so good!" she exclaims. 

Maybe it was the food and how nice Xiao Yu is, she started to feel more comfortable and started talking to him. 

"You don't even know. One time Ye Nanchen tried to cook and he even burned an egg, and then used salt like it was sugar!" Just thinking about the past makes Jiang Shiyi laugh so hard. 

Xiao Yu laughs too cuz he has never seen or tried Ye Nanchen's cooking before. 

"Jiang Shiyi!" Ye Nanchen grits his teeth as he calls out her name. 

Ye Nanchen regrets bringing her here now. He coldly stares at Xiao Yu, and looks at the heartless Jiang Shiyi. 

Jiang Shiyi quickly shuts her mouth and coaxes him quickly. "Try this one," she says and puts the food inside his plate. 

Xiao Yu could feel the coldness from Ye Nanchen, and knew right away that he had made him angry. He quickly ate his food in peace. 

… … 

After eating, Jiang Shiyi has to go to her class. She said her goodbyes and left. 

Ye Nanchen was still not happy about what happened earlier. Xiao Yu wants to escape, but Ye Nanchen stops him. 

Xiao Yu wishes he could go back in time and shuts his mouth, as he cries inside.

"Where did you go?" Qian Yanxi asked. 

This is one of the two classes they have together, and usually they would go to lunch together before class. 

"Oh, I went to see a friend," Jiang Shiyi says. 

Qiao Yanxi nods. "Can't believe that the dining hall was this crowded today. I almost can't even find a seat! Oh right, where did you go to eat?" she asks knowing that Jiang Shiyi can't skip a single meal. 

"I ate outside," Jiang Shiyi says with an awkward laugh. 

Jiang Shiyi could still remember how Ye Nanchen's face looked before she left. "Is he angry?" she thought to herself. 

One of the things that Jiang Shiyi is scared of is when Ye Nanchen is angry. It takes quite a long time for her to make him happy. She starts scratching her head as she starts to think how to coax him.
