Today, General Shen was visiting his daughter, Shen Nana, for the first time in years. Initially, he was against Nana's marriage to Shuren and had constantly opposed it. He wanted Nana to marry a military man like himself and when she refused, he disowned her in a fit of anger.
However, years of being apart from his only daughter made his heart yearn for her return. That's why the moment Shuren contacted him about the Kangs, he did not hesitate to extend his help. If this could make up for all the years he had abandoned his daughter, it was a small price to pay.
Upon arriving at the Wang Mansion, he was greeted by Butler Tang.
"Good afternoon, General Shen."
He nodded.
"Please allow me to lead you inside." With a bow, Butler Tang led the man into the living room where Nana was waiting for him.
"Daddy!" She called, a bright smile on her face.
"Nana…" The man could not help but tear up upon seeing his daughter's face. She was even more beautiful than what his memories had portrayed her to be.
Nana ran into her father's arms, closing the gap that had torn them apart for years.
"Nana…" He called again as he enveloped her in a tight hug.
"Daddy… I missed you." She cried, tears steadily streaming down her face.
They spent a few more moments together in each other's embrace before they felt a small warmth on their legs. They both looked down to see a little girl hugging their legs. Daiyu had joined their hug.
Daiyu wanted to draw in the living room like she usually did. But upon entering the room she saw her mother crying and thought that she must have been very sad. So she joined the hug to comfort her.
"Mommy." She looked up to her. "Don't cry. Daiyu will blow away the hurt for you."
Nana laughed and wiped away her tears before bending down to pick the child up.
"Daiyu, this is my daddy, General Shen."
Daiyu looked at the man with a pout.
"Don't bully mommy."
Nana giggled and kissed her chubby cheek.
The father and daughter pair spent the rest of the afternoon catching up with each other while Daiyu stayed inside the room with them, drawing. Soon, the sun had set and it was time for General Shen to leave. The father and daughter pair bade each other goodbye for now before promising to meet up more often.

The next day, Daiyu, Liu Jin, and Zhihao wore matching baby pink T-shirts and white shorts. Liu Jin had tied Daiyu's hair up into two high ponytails with a pink ribbon and she carried around a small red backpack.
"Are you ready?" Liu Jin asked as he tied her shoelaces.
Daiyu nodded excitedly. Today, they were going to the amusement park!
"Okay, let's go." He stood up and smiled down at her. Daiyu then held onto his hand and they boarded the car together.
The children sat in one car while Nana and Shuren sat in another. They headed for the amusement park at ten in the morning, ready to spend their entire day having fun.
Upon arriving, the children ran around excitedly while Nana and Shuren walked behind them, enjoying their own time together.
The first thing Daiyu did was to buy matching ear headbands for her and her two big brothers. She chose a bunny one for herself, a bear one for her Zhihao-gege, and a dog one for her Jin-gege. They then took several pictures together in the photobooths, printing stickers of themselves along with several pocket-sized photos.
After that, they spent their time going around stores, buying matching T-shirts, mugs, and souvenirs for Daiyu's grandfather. Shuren and Nana wanted them to have lunch together first before going for the rides so they spent their morning shopping instead.
When lunch came around, they had their meal at a western restaurant before the children finally tried all the different rides they could.
"Wow. This sure is exciting." Zhihao sarcastically commented as they rode the slow horses on the merry-go-round. He didn't think that at the age of twenty-three, he would be forced to ride something as embarrassing as this.
Unfortunately, the children couldn't try the more exciting rides like the rollercoasters because of the height requirement. So they had to settle for the children's rides instead.
Meanwhile, Daiyu giggled happily and her eyes sparkled with excitement. She was sharing a horse with her Jin-gege and she felt like a princess with her knight. Under the yellow lights of the ride, her Jin-gege looked even cooler!
"Are you having fun, Xiao Yu?" Liu Jin asked as he wrapped an arm around her waist to make sure she wouldn't fall.
Daiyu nodded her head vigorously. Today was only starting but she was already having so much fun! Liu Jin smiled.
Outside the ride, Nana was gushing at how cute the three children were. They had animal ears on their heads, wore matching pink T-shirts, and were riding shiny little ponies together! And look at her son! Her son was being so gentlemanly!
"Shuren! Shuren look! Ah Jin is so adorable!" She called her husband's attention as she continued to take several photos of the children together.
Shuren nodded. He didn't really think Liu Jin was adorable. But if Nana says something was adorable, it was adorable.
"Aren't you embarrassed?" Zhihao asked.
"I am. I'm embarrassed to be with you." Liu Jin replied.
"Hey!"
Shuren and Nana then parted ways with the children before the little ones went to try the rotating giant teacups together. This time, all three children shared one cup and it slowly rotated from one end to the other.
"Well. This is even more exciting." Zhihao frowned. Just then, he saw the steering wheel at the center of the ride and he gave a mischievous grin.
"Xiao Yu, do you want to go really fast?"
"Fast?" Daiyu's eyes sparkled. Zhihao nodded and he quickly turned the stirring wheel. The teacup started speedily turning and Daiyu giggled excitedly.
"Hey! Stop that!" Liu Jin gritted his teeth.
"No!" Zhihao turned the wheel even faster and Daiyu giggled even louder. Soon, the staff had to pause the ride due to safety concerns and the three children had to leave.
Liu Jin sighed as he watched Zhihao barfing by the side of the road while Daiyu repeatedly asked him to ride the teacups with her one more time.
"Again, again!" She constantly shook the already nauseous boy. Feeling pity for him, Liu Jin decided to turn Daiyu's attention away.
"Xiao Yu, why don't we go buy a balloon instead?"
"Balloon?" Daiyu jumped in excitement.
Liu Jin nodded and bought her a pink balloon from a passing vendor. He then tied the string onto her wrist so that she wouldn't lose it.
Seeing that Zhihao wasn't getting any better, he decided to leave to get him some medicine.
"Xiao Yu, I'm going to go buy some medicine for your Zhihao-gege. Take care of him for me in the meantime okay? Don't stray away."
Daiyu nodded as she waved her Jin-gege goodbye. She then stood next to Zhihao, rubbing his back with her little hands.
"Xiao Yu, I think your Zhihao-gege needs to sit down." Zhihao stated as he held on to her.
Right now, they were in a lesser populated area of the park that was currently being renovated to include more rides in the future. As such, there were no benches available.
Daiyu looked around and saw a stationary carriage nearby. It was a mini-truck altered to look like a cart used to transport hay during the seventeenth century.
"Zhihao-gege!" She then pointed to the open cart. The two children then walked over to the cart and sat down inside.
Moments later, the cart's door was shut closed from the outside and it began moving.
Zhihao's eyes widened as he turned his head to face Daiyu. Daiyu stared back at him, unable to sense the danger they were in.
"Hahaha." Zhihao laughed nervously.
He stood up and knocked on the side of the wall that was supposedly facing the driver's seat.
"Excuse me."
No answer.
"Hello?"
No answer.
He banged on the wall and still received no response. Feeling less and less calm, he started kicking the wall but still earned no reply.
"Calm down Zhihao." He tried giving himself a pep talk.
While the amusement park was big, the truck had to stop at some point and they could just walk back the moment the staff notices their presence inside the truck.
"That's right." He told himself. He then sat back down next to Daiyu.
After an estimated thirty minutes without the truck stopping, Zhihao began sweating profusely.
"Hahaha. Just a little bit more."
It was not a little bit more.
The truck continued moving and by this time, Zhihao had finally convinced himself that it was time to panic.
"Hahaha." He turned his head and saw Daiyu innocently looking at him, wondering if her Zhihao-gege was finally feeling well.
"Well." Zhihao turned to face the locked door.
"Fuck."
