As the Sleep Powder descended, the Nosepass fell into slumber one after another.
Seeing this, other trainers also released Pokémon capable of using Sleep Powder. Some trainers even had a stroke of genius and sent out Pokémon capable of using Hypnosis.
However, whether due to the magnetic interference or not, Psychic-type Hypnosis surprisingly had no effect on the Nosepass. They could only resort to using Sleep Powder.
With the collective effort of the trainers, the rioting Nosepass eventually collapsed to the ground.
Flint walked over and patted Yuga on the shoulder, smiling, "Not bad, my brother. Your brain's pretty nimble."
Yuga humbly replied, "It's just that no one thought of it at the moment."
At that time, Officer Jenny held a loudspeaker and shouted to the trainers on the field, "Thank you all for your swift assistance in resolving this issue. However, this is only temporary. Unless we find the cause of the Nosepass' revolt, this matter won't be considered resolved, and you won't be able to leave here smoothly.
I implore you all to help us once more and work together to identify the cause of the magnetic anomaly at Mount Coronet."
Of course, everyone wished to leave as soon as possible. Hence, they all agreed to Officer Jenny's request and promised to help find the problem. Yuga and his group were no exception.
Under Officer Jenny's command, all the trainers on the scene formed teams of 3-5 people each, scattering to investigate the surroundings.
Walking through the forest, Flint voiced his concerns, "Do you think, if we can't solve the issue here quickly, we might miss the Lily of the Valley Conference?"
Volkner reassured, "Nah, with so many people helping, we'll likely find the cause soon."
Yuga also nodded, comforting Flint that it wouldn't happen.
Not far away, Yuga amd Flint's Houndoom repeatedly sniffed the air, trying to find clues. Meanwhile Volkner's Luxray, with its eyes that could see through everything, carefully observed the surroundings.
Suddenly, Luxray's body began to flicker with faint electric lights for no apparent reason. Its expression became quite uncomfortable.
"Luxray, what's wrong?" Volkner asked nervously.
"Luxray!" Luxray roared at Volkner and then quickly ran forward on all fours.
"Luxray!"
Volkner shouted and followed Luxray closely.
"What's going on?" Flint asked in confusion.
Yuga shook his head, saying to Flint, "Let's follow as well. There might be some clues. Magnetism can affect Electric-type Pokémon too, and Luxray might have discovered something."
Flint nodded and quickly followed Yuga, leading his two Houndooms.
When they caught up with Volkner, they found him searching the area with a frustrated expression.
"Volkner, where's Luxray?" Flint grabbed Volkner's arm and asked.
"Luxray ran too fast, I lost track," Volkner said in a dejected tone.
Flint patted Volkner's shoulder and said, "Don't worry, leave it to me. I'll definitely find Luxray for you.
"Houndoom, see if you can trace Luxray's scent."
Flint's Houndoom lifted its head, closed its eyes, and sniffed the air. Then it nodded at Flint with assurance.
Flint smiled and said, "See? I told you I could find them. Houndoom and Luxray have known each other for so long; they can't possibly get lost."
Upon hearing Flint's words, Volkner's expression improved considerably. He said to Flint, "Thanks, Flint."
"Don't mention it. Let's find Luxray together. Houndoom, lead us to Luxray!"
So, the three of them followed behind Flint's Houndoom and ran towards the depths of Mount Coronet.
As they followed Houndoom, they didn't know how long they had been running, but Yuga and his group noticed that the altitude was getting higher and the trees in the forest were becoming denser.
"Where do you think we'll end up if we keep running like this?" Flint asked.
Volkner shook his head and said, "I don't know."
The depths of Mount Coronet were extremely dangerous, and few people ventured there.
"But we have to find Luxray, no matter where it takes us," Yuga said.
"I'm sorry, if it weren't for my Luxray..." Volkner expressed his guilt.
Flint turned around and disagreed, "What are you saying! Since we came out together, we naturally share the responsibility if something happens. Would you just stand by if something happened to our Houndoom?"
Yuga also nodded in agreement.
"Right." Volkner softly replied but didn't say more.
Just then, the Houndoom in front, who was scouting ahead, suddenly turned around and shouted at Yuga's group before quickly running forward.
"Houndoom must have found Luxray's trail. Let's catch up quickly," Flint shouted.
So, the three of them quickly followed Houndoom's lead until they arrived at a massive pit.
This pit seemed to have formed a long time ago; the surrounding area was overgrown with lush trees. At the bottom of the pit lay a huge gray rock.
Luxray was currently lying under the giant stone, surrounded by crackling electric energy, appearing to be in great pain.
Not only Luxray, but many other types of Electric-type Pokémon were also gathered there—Pikachu, Plusle, Minun, Pachirisu, Magnemite, and others. Like Luxray, they all looked very distressed.
"Volkner, quickly use a Poké Ball to recall Luxray. It looks terrible," Yuga reminded Volkner.
Upon hearing this, Volkner hurriedly took out a Poké Ball, walked into the pit, and recalled Luxray into it.
Yuga's group also approached the giant stone. As they got closer, they could feel an uncomfortable and nauseating aura emanating from it.
"Do you sense it?" Yuga forced himself to suppress the feeling of nausea and asked the other two.
Both Flint and Volkner nodded at the same time.
"Could this giant stone be the source of the magnetic anomaly near Mount Coronet?" Volkner speculated.
Flint said, "It's highly likely."
"It's you!"
Just then, they heard Officer Jenny's voice from behind.
Turning around, Yuga's group saw Officer Jenny standing at the edge of the pit with her Arcanine and the golden-haired ranger.
"Officer Jenny! You've also found this place," Flint said.
"Yes, we followed my Arcanine and traced the path of my Electivire to get here," Officer Jenny explained, pointing to her Electivire not far away, which appeared to be in great pain.
Seems like Officer Jenny and their group encountered a similar situation, Yuga thought.
