Chapter 24

As if the whole Harry and Keisha saga wasn't enough, Harry came over to my house.

I was currently sitting on the kitchen counter texting Jeremy while Tyler and Harry talked

Me: I had fun today

Baby : Me too. Umm is there anything going on between you and Harry?

Me: No, why would you ask that?

Baby : You seemed a little off when you saw Keisha talk to him. Jealous?

Me: hell no. You have nothing to worry about

Baby : Good

"Sis" Tyler called, disrupting me and Jeremy's conversation

"Yes?" I answered

He definitely wants something. He only calls me 'sis' when he needs a favor plus he has a huge grin on his face.

"Ever heard of The Rave?"

"Yup. The hottest party in town that occurs every year at least that's what I heard"

"Well, I've always been busy but I want to go this year. You need to come. Mum and dad won't let me go without you"

I groaned. I really don't feel like going for parties anymore considering what happened at the first and last party I attended.

"When is it?" I asked

"Saturday "

"That's five days away. How are you gonna convince dad to let us go in a short amount of time?"

"Leave that to me"

"But I don't wanna go" I whined

"Come on, the best up coming musicians are performing. Do it for me please, I barely do anything fun outside working"

That is true. Well, it isn't out of place for me to sacrifice my comfort zone for my brother just to make him happy. After all, he did the same for me.

"Fine" I muttered

"Great! We leave first thing Friday morning then we come back on Sunday. It'll be fun"

"Sure" I mumbled sarcastically

Tyler's phone rang

"I have to pick this" he said "Excuse me"

He walked out of the room to answer his call leaving me alone with Harry. My body heated up when I remembered what happened the first and the last time Harry and I were alone in the kitchen together.

I continued texting Jeremy trying as much as possible in order to ignore Harry. It wasn't easy since he kept staring at me.

"What is it?" I asked

"What do you mean?"

"Don't act dumb. I can feel your gaze burning a hole in my face"

He sighed sadly then walked over to me. Even as I sat on the counter, he was still taller than me

"You didn't give me a chance to explain" he said softly

"What's there to explain? I came to tell you I chose you over Jeremy but instead I caught you with someone else"

"It's not what you think"

"I know we weren't official but I thought you liked me enough to wait.. "

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down before I say something I might regret

"You really hurt me" I said

His face was full of guilt and remorse or was he faking it?

"Do you wanna know why I did what I did?" He asked

"Why?" I asked, curious to know his reason

"The time I went out, I went to get you flowers. When I came back I... "

He clenched his fists in anger

"God!" He exclaimed "I don't even want to think about what I saw"

"What? What did you see?"

"I saw you and Jeremy kissing''

My mouth hung open in shock. Oh my God. Is that his reason?

I face palmed myself. Oh Harry,! You got it all wrong

"He kissed me" I defended

"You had your hand on his chest like... Like you were into it"

"I was trying to push him away but he was too strong"

"I got so angry that I called a girl and hooked up with her. I know it wasn't right but it was all out of jealousy. You gotta understand where I'm coming from"

Of course, I do understand where you're coming from.

He held my hands and looked me in the eyes. God I could get lost in his green orbs forever

We weren't even bothered about Tyler walking in any moment. All that mattered at this point was us

How did I fall for this guy in a short period of time?

How did he mean so much to me?

"I don't care about that girl" he said "I care about you"

"I'm with Jeremy now"

"I don't give a fuck. You like me, not him"

"It wouldn't have worked out anyway. We're two opposite people. My parents would never approve"

"Does it matter?"

"Yes, it does"

"Amanda, you weren't thinking about your parents last night when you came to tell me you chose me. If you didn't see what you saw, we would be together by now. I judged too quickly. I'm sorry"

"I judged quickly as well. I'm sorry too"

"Be mine. Please"

"Harry... "

"I know we're rushing things,. We don't have to be official now. We can take it slow, get to know each other better but all I'm asking is for you to agree to be with me"

I closed my eyes to prevent losing myself in his.

"I can't " I said

"Why not?"

"Because... I just can't"

"Angel?"

My heart melted whenever he called me that. His tone was so soft and soothing

"Yes?" I answered

"Open your eyes, please"

I obeyed him opening my eyes slowly

"Look at me" he said "look me in the eyes and tell me you don't want to be with me"

"I do. I really do but we can't"

He raised my hands up to his lips and kissed them

"Maybe last night happened for a reason" I said "maybe we aren't meant to be together"

"I don't care what you say, okay? I am not giving up on you. Never have I felt such an attraction to someone before"

"I feel it too"

"So what are we waiting for?"

He put his hands on the counter on both my sides, trapping me

I sat there in anticipation as he leaned in, our lips almost connecting until..... We heard the sound of Tyler's footsteps

Harry immediately returned to his former position. We hadn't done anything but I was already feeling hot

Damn you Ty. Why did you have to walk in now?

"Sorry guys for taking so long" Tyler said "it was an important call from work. Apparently, one of our top staff is resigning"

"It's alright mate" Harry replied

I couldn't even respond. I kept picturing what could have been

I imagined how it would be like if Harry kissed me. I wondered what his lips on mine would taste like

I let out a deep breath

I guess I'll never know
