Chapter 22

"Whoa, what happened to you?" Jeremy exclaimed referring to my black eye

It automatically swelled and darkened over night along with my other scars which I covered by wearing a turtle neck long sleeved top.

Janet and Keisha were behind him. They gasped as well.

I was hiding in the library to avoid any questions but my friends found me

"Long story" I said

They sat around me in our usual circle position.

"Who did this to you?" Janet asked

"I don't wanna talk about it" I sighed

"Was it your dad?" Keisha asked

Why does she have to be so smart?

"Good guess K"

"Why would he do that?" Jeremy questioned

"Like I said I don't wanna talk about it"

"Is this why you didn't come to class?" Keisha questioned

"Yes, cause I was avoiding questions like this"

"You know what? I say we ditch" Janet suggested

"I agree" Jeremy replied

"Me too" Keisha added "Amanda?"

I stayed silent contemplating on what to do. If we were caught, I'd be in serious trouble with my dad again

At this point I didn't even care about what anyone thinks of me. Its high time I rebelled

I sighed as I cleaned the counter for the fifth time today. Customers can be so messy.

I cringed when I heard the doorbell. Great. Another customer. Just what I needed. I naturally hate people and now I have to deal with them every day.

To my surprise it was Janet and Keisha. What are these girls always doing here?

"Hey Harry" they greeted as they walked in

"Hey guys"

They went to the back of the room to sit down. What are they doing here? Aren't they supposed to be in class?

I was just about to ask of Amanda when I saw her come in hand in hand with Jeremy . She was laughing at something he said. My heart clenched at the sight of their intertwined fingers

What's so funny about that prick anyway?

I thought Amanda and I were good these past few days

Did our cuddle session mean nothing to her? I just comforted her last night yet here she is laughing with that guy

I decided to ignore her as she made her way towards me

"Hey" she said sitting on one of the stools. Jeremy had gone to sit with the other girls

"Hi" I replied not looking up

"What's wrong?"

"I see you made up with lover boy"

Of course she did. He had everything. Good looks, a wealthy family, a nice car plus a good educational background whereas I had nothing ; just a small apartment, a job at a local diner and an iPhone that I stole.

"Oh Harry, its not like that I promise"

The way she said my name softly made me forget all the anger I felt. I looked up to meet her eyes and instantly regretted being mad at her.

"I'm sorry for assuming" I apologized "how are you feeling?"

She smiled at my concern. God, I want to see that smile every time

"Better thank you"

An idea popped into my head. Why don't I do something that'll make her happy. I've never gotten her anything before. How about flowers? Girls like flowers right but I've never done this before, I don't know which one she'd like.

"Wait here" I told her "I wanna get you something"

Immediately her face lit up

"What is it??!!" She asked "is it something I can eat? Is it a teddy bear?"

I laughed

"I'm not telling, just please don't leave till I come back" "Mike!" I called out to my co worker who was in the store room

"Yeah?" He replied

"Cover for me, I'll be back in a minute"

I took off my apron and left the diner to the nearest florist

Amanda

I checked my watch for the fifth time. Its been an hour since Harry left and I really need to get home before someone starts getting suspicious.

Jeremy and I were sitting in his car waiting

"Mandy?" He said

"Yeah" I answered facing him

"Have you thought about my proposal?"

"Yeah and... "

Before I could finish my sentence he kissed me. I put my hands on his chest trying to push him away but he wouldn't budge. I pushed as hard as I could till I managed to get him off me

"What is wrong with you?" I shouted

"I love you"

I slapped him hard on his face

"We're done Jeremy! You don't get to assault me like that"

An hour later I had returned with a bouquet of yellow roses and a box of chocolates

I was almost at the diner hoping Amanda hadn't left. I saw Jeremy's car in the parking lot

Thank goodness. I looked closer and saw two people inside.

I unconsciously dropped the flowers at the sight I saw

Amanda kissing Jeremy

She even had her hand on his chest as if she was enjoying it

I am so stupid. I'm so stupid to think that she would choose me

I know we aren't a couple or anything but... God, I don't even know what to say. Guess it's time to go back to my player ways.

I walked away from the scene with a heavy heart and brought out my phone from my pocket. I called the first girl I could find; Ashley

"Hello" she answered

"Come over in two hours"

"Oh now you want me? You've ignored me for two weeks cause of some girl. What happened? She isn't good in bed?"

"Are you coming or nah?"

She stayed silent for a while before responding

"I'm coming"

I smirked.

"Can't wait"

Amanda

I screamed loudly as I paced up and down my room.

How dare Jeremy kiss me forcefully? Who does he think he is?

I called Harry for the tenth time to apologize for leaving but the calls went straight to voicemail

"What's wrong?" Tyler asked as he entered my room "I heard you scream"

"Everything's fine, I'm just frustrated over a few things"

I sat down on the bed

"Can I ask you something?" I questioned

"Sure"

"I'm torn in between two guys, what should I do?"

"You like both of them?"

"Kinda. See, Jeremy fits into this family, the kind of guy mom and dad would want me to date but this other guy is like a breath of fresh air. I feel happy whenever I'm with him but I doubt dad would accept him cause of his background. With Jeremy, its like I'm supposed to be with him"

Tyler stayed silent letting all I said sink in

"I have no answer to your question but I advice you to choose the second guy because if you really loved Jeremy, you wouldn't even consider being with the second one"

That's true.

"Thanks"

The moment Tyler left my room I knew what I had to do

I knocked on Harry's door. He opened a few minutes later. He looked surprised to see me

"Amanda? What are you doing here?"

He was shirtless, only wearing shorts. I couldn't help but admire his perfectly sculptured body

I smiled

"I came to tell you that I choose you Harry"

"What? Really?"

"Yes, its always been you"

"Harry!" A female voice called from inside "you got an extra lighter? I forgot mine"

A half naked woman came into view, dressed in a bra and underwear. Her hair was rough

"Hello there" she said smiling at me

Harry in briefs + a half naked woman. Oh my God

"How could you" I whispered

"Let me explain"

He tried to hold me but I ran away. I ran as fast as I could downstairs till I got into my Uber

I gave him an address I never thought I'd go to again. When I arrived I got out of the car and entered the house

He was usually home this time so I went straight to his room and knocked

"Amanda?" Jeremy said surprised "what are you... "

Not letting him finish, I kissed him with all the passion I had been saving for Harry

"I want you back" I told him

"Really?"

I joined our lips together again. The next thing our clothes were off in a few minutes

"One more thing" I said

"What is it?"

"I'm ready"
