A Moment of Rest

There was one main difference he noticed about the woodsy town, watching as beauties with pointy ears and silken hair passed by:

'It feels like there's a lot more elves here,' he observed.

Being an avid consumer of light novels and just about every kind of fantasy-based media in his previous life, elves were on his once imaginary bucket list.

He watched all sorts of them pass by; blonde, regal elves with voluptuous features; brunette elves with petite builds; even dark-skinned elven women with a graceful demeanor.

'This town might be paradise,' he thought, having to force himself to get back on track.

There was a slight incline to the main street of the town he ventured down, passing by vendors selling fruit and fresh produce before he took a turn to the left. It didn't take much looking around to figure out where the inn was, seeing as it stood out from the rest of the stone-built structures.

It looked to be a colossal tree, carved out and decorated to fit the business it was:

"The Grandtree Inn."

Just by a single look at it and the number of people that went in-and-out of the establishment, with some coming in off of opulent carriages, there was no doubt that it was a luxury inn.

'Why do I have the feeling Emma lied about coming to this place? She probably just wanted me to fork over the gold so she could experience it–whatever,' he thought, letting out a sigh.

As he walked into the tree-turned-inn, the interior was much larger than it even appeared from the outside. It was more detailed and furnished than he predicted, though there was still a theme of natural leaves and flowers that hung from the walls.

"Welcome to the Grandtree Inn, Sir! Were you looking to buy a room?"

He was greeted by the joyful tone of a bubbly girl; an employee of the inn who wore a white-and-verdant uniform-dress, wearing bright-blue flowers in her short, silver hair.

The first thing he truly took note of were her pointy ears, that bounced subtly with her upbeat movements.

'An elf…!' He thought.

For a moment, he forgot to respond as he was taken aback by the sudden encounter with the eye-catching beauty before him.

"Yeah, are there any rooms for three people?" He asked, coughing to fix his voice.

The silver-haired elf tapped a quill against her chin in thought, "Three, you say? Let me check on that!"

He watched the worker check the clipboard she held that likely had the status of each room, available and not.

"…Apologies, sir. It seems like we're all booked!" The elven woman said with a frown, looking up from her board.

He stepped closer, maintaining eye contact with her glistening, verdant eyes, "You can make me a priority, right? Since I'm a VIP."

[Hypnosis successful.]

[EXP: +10] [172/175]

The convincing words made the silver-haired girl blink a few times before she began to nod, "I…I can do that, yes! Of course!"

"Thanks a bunch."

In terms of sheer usefulness, he found his system to be unmatched. As he watched the elf with the flowers in her hair overwrite the current bookings for him, he watched her body closely.

It was difficult to tell exactly what kind of body she had beneath her uniform, watching her rear while she faced away. In terms of her chest, he estimated them to be C-cup, by the way they slightly jiggled with each movement she made.

"All done! Would you like me to show you to your room?" The elf asked with a slight tint to her cheeks.

"Lead the way," he accepted.

A spiraling staircase led up the height of the hollowed tree, passing by each floor that looked to house at least a dozen rooms each. Halfway up the unique inn, he was led to the room designated for him.

"Here you are," the elven girl presented with a smile, opening the door.

Beyond the door was a sizable room, fit with three beds and a view into the cityscape. After a long expedition and tiring battles, he'd never been so glad to see a room with a soft bed and a warm bath.

"If you need anything, please let me know. I'll be in the lobby," the inn worker said softly.

"Yeah, thanks," he glanced back. "There should be two others arriving at some point later–err, a girl with red hair like an apple, should be carrying a bow. Also, a mage in red carrying a staff too big for herself. Hard to miss 'em."

"I'll send them up when I see them," the elven woman said with a slight bow.

As soon as the door was closed behind him, he wasted no time tossing his scabbard and pack onto the bed he chose and undressing himself as he made his way into the washing room.

Of course, the inconveniences of a medieval world were not present in one of magic; the unfilled bath easily brought in hot water with the tap of a light-orange rune embedded in the wall.

"That's more advanced than modern tech," he mumbled to himself before sinking himself into the nice, warm bath.

As soon as he let his body be enveloped by the refreshing water, he let out a sigh of relief. All of the blood and grime from the dungeon expedition was washed away, along with the feeling of exhaustion within him.

Whether it was due to his system increasing his physical abilities or his own activity, he found his muscle definition had increased even more.

'Just after one expedition like that, I feel much stronger. What are my limits? Do I have any?' He questioned, looking at his hands.

After enough relaxing, he got out of the bath and dried himself off before heading back into the room. Luckily, he had a change of clothes stored in the pack; a dark-gray tunic with light-gray trousers, letting him slip into a fresh attire.

As soon as he was dressed, he flopped himself down onto the cushioned bed, letting himself simply sink into its comfort.

'Man, I'm beat,' he thought.

Before he knew it, the drowsiness he experienced won the battle over his consciousness. Even in his sleep, the sensation of his muscles repairing themselves and growing stronger from the extensive strain he put them through was felt.
