People of Avalon

(Klaus POV)

I woke up with a hybrid lioness lying at top of me. After extracting myself from Lily, I went to bathroom and after that made my way to my lab.

Labs are located in a separate building from the castle where my bedroom is, after we blowe up a tower of the castel one to many times we decided to relocate the labs to a building that can be reconstructed easier.

Travelling through the corridors of the castles I say hi to those that are working here, mostly shapeshifters that work as maids, cooks and a butler. Well butler is a hybrid, I picked him up some hundred years ago when we got bored of organising everything ourselves.

Castle is built in victorian style, with three towers and an beautiful garden. On the inside castle has a magically extended library, a trophy room, an armory, there are 20 bedrooms including Lords and lady's bedroom, and Lords and lady's offices.

There is also what can only be described as a garage that holds: magitech cars, motorcycles, brooms, and some other vehicles. Dwarfs and me have spent a lot of time creating them, and it became a competition between us. Most of the vehicles in castle's garage were created by me.

After coming in the lab I look around. My and Lily's Labs are separate, mine is made of stone mostly, there are purple flames flying around and giving the light to the room. There is an enchanting table were I engrave runes and add charms to the item, as well as a forge on the sides with different samples of metals that I use. Newest on is mithril, created by the Dwarfs, it's ability to hold an enchantment is only rivaled by uru.

I added it to our focuses as well as Diana's armor, this helped strengthen the armor, and helped that small part of uru we have in our focuses do its job. It is also used a lot for magitech that we use on the island. Most importantly it is used for mana batteries.

Mana batteries are used for magitech that require a lot of mana, while most enchantment items absorb mana that is all around us there is an limit how fast that can be done before an item falls apart. To solve this issue we add two batteries in an artifact ,and while one is powering the systems other one absorbs mana, after first on empties they switch. With this system we don't overload any other part of the device thanks to power being distributed were needed.

Currently I am working on fixing some issues with enchantment we use to maintain a day and night cycle on the islands. Since our islands move all over the world time when day starts and ends changes all the time, we use an enchantment that is similar to how Lily explained Hogwarts great hall ceiling. Well it also takes care of the seasons and it shows time that would be if castle didn't move at all, except for some parts that stay constant.

It has been a long time since we started working on Avalon, and I can't believe how far we got. When we were discussing bringing some of the sentiant races I wasn't sure at first is it a good idea, but after meeting them and finding out about what they can do we decided that it would be better to have them then not.

Dwarfs are naturally talented in enchanting, forging and earth manipulation. They are one of the greatest boons to the islands. Most of them aren't interested in ruling as long as they can work on their art, so they don't have any issues with living on an island that is ruled by two immortals. When there is an issue they are represented by the eldest craftsmen in the clan.

Goblins are more complicated, being greedy little basterds, but they love the islands and work with us well enough. There magic is different from any other, it is more focused on strengthening their bodies, but it also allows them to temporarily absorb properties of an material they touch. This also helps them develop a way to create the goblin silver that can absorb properties of anything. (AN: image goblin having similar power like Kevin from Ben 10 alien force, being able to become metal or stone and so on.)

There are also Gnomes. Gnomes are probably a synonym for med scientists, they are geniuses in alchemy, but they don't have any limits. If we didn't have their experiment strictly monitored we would probably have those hentai tentacles running around the islands. Gnome magic is mostly same as human one and Lily says that there were few of them in Hogwarts during her years there.

As I was reminiscing someone opened the door of my lab and yelled "Papa are you there?".

I turn around to see a tall redheaded girl with jade green eyes, her robes in different shades of green and brown. "I am here Ivy. What's up?"

"Something happened in Rome. One of my hybrids informed me, it seams that an entire town disappeared. Only thing they found are gient wolf paw prints and magic in the area seams to be chaotic." I raise an eyebrow at that. "Well that sounds interesting, let's go check it out."

AN: Well that was fun. I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Sorry I didn't post earlier, but I had a few hectic days. I hope you like how world is starting to look and an important thing to mention, magical world that will exist in this story will be a lot different then one in Harry Potter canon, while some things will happen like rise of Voldemort it will happen in a world that is quite a bit different.
