HxH: another kind of Zoldyck

Synopsis: A fan of manga and anime was extremely unlucky in his life and ended up dying by suicide. Fortunately, Death itself came to repair the injustice he had suffered and reincarnated him in another world with a wish limited to that specific world. Author's Note: I do not own HxH, and the cover of this story is not mine. The protagonist will not be a psychopathic madman who kills indiscriminately, but a rational and sometimes selfish individual in his decisions.

Chapter 06: Zeno and Silva.

Kira's POV.

After finishing discussing a few details concerning Leorio's and others' recruitments, I decided to leave the butler's residence.

"Sorry again for taking up your precious time, Gotoh," I said as I stood up to leave.

"It's nothing, I'm paid and trained to assist the Zoldyck family to the best of my abilities," he expressed with a professional smile.

"Without being too indiscreet, may I ask where you obtained the information about these people?" Gotoh inquired curiously.

I already knew it would be suspicious for me to decide to acquire subordinates I already possess information about, especially since I'm not supposed to have gone out of the residence alone.

"I have my sources," I said, smiling before leaving without looking back.

Since my family already knows I study with Milluki, I'm sure Father will think I obtained the information from him and particularly about Neon Nostrade.

But in the case of Leorio and Pairo, I'll have to find a plausible excuse, if Father comes to interrogate me personally later.

I headed towards Milluki's quarters; I had to provide him with the information about GOW. I can leave the Zoldyck residence anytime during the week, so I prefer to conclude my part of the deal beforehand.

I've learned a lot about computer science from Milluki, and I'm certain I can easily hack any website.

Of course, except for those managed by the Hunter Association; those will be a challenge for me currently, but it's still feasible.

Regarding the global technological sector, I've made a lot of progress, but it took up a significant amount of time in my schedule, so I had to reduce my time learning more about medicine.

One of the inventions I appreciate the most is the reproduction of Bota Ma and Teon Ma's weapon from the manhwa Leviathan.

Of course, it has been modified.

It doesn't use gas to function but electricity, and I created it larger than the original with a different metal, but it was the hardest metal the butlers could find on the market.

In the end, it's bigger than the original and heavier. I don't think any ordinary human will be able to use it for combat.

Fortunately for me, I'm a Zoldyck, so I'm not exactly an ordinary human at the moment.

Apart from that, I've also created some neat things like a magnetic bomb that disables or destroys any ordinary electronic computer device within a few hundred meters or more...

We can say that I currently have a small armory of objects since I've created other small things. I may possibly use them to arm my subordinates or even myself in the future, but I doubt it will be useful for me personally later on.

Grandfather Zeno didn't look favorably upon my interest in technology like Milluki. I had to convince him that for me, it's just a pastime.

...

"Hey, how's our project going?" I said once I was at Milluki's.

"Our project? You mean mine," he replied, frowning.

"Hey, I'm participating in its creation too," I said, taking a seat.

"Yes, but you gave me the idea, and you're participating to improve your coding skills," Milluki declared shamelessly.

"Never mind, I just came to give you the rest of parts 2 and 3 of GOW," I explained, taking out a notebook to write.

"You're already 6 years old, huh? You'll have to face that damn Heavens Arena

," Milluki declared thoughtfully.

He must be reminiscing about memories concerning the Celestial Arena.

"Here, I'm done. If you have any questions later, you'll have to contact me..."

I hadn't finished speaking when Milluki threw a phone at me, which I managed to catch.

"Here, this is your birthday present," he said without looking at me; he must be embarrassed.

I now know my brother is a big tsundere.

"Thanks, see you later then."

After my conversation with Milluki, I went to find Zeno, but he was strangely nowhere to be found.

...

Zeno's POV.

"Why do you need me?" I asked, observing around me. I could sense a slight breath, but the opposing Zetsu was executed correctly.

I can tell this isn't a regular meeting with my son, especially recently with Kira's abnormally rapid evolution.

"I want you not to intervene when Illumi plants a needle in Kira," Silva said directly, without beating around the bush.

"I see," I said simply.

I knew Silva would want to ensure Kira's survival, but I find using Illumi for that unsuitable in a case like Kira's.

He derives his current evolution from his ingenuity and mentality; if Illumi uses his Hatsu on him...

"I disagree," I said after a brief mental deliberation.

"And why is that?" he asked, looking me in the eyes.

"I've been by Kira's side even longer than you, I know him better than anyone in the family, except maybe Kikyo," I declared, walking towards Silva.

With each step, I intensified my Ren to respond to Silva's murderous intent currently directed at me; it seems he didn't take my words well.

"And I find that using Illumi would be counterproductive with him, haven't I told you that before?"

"Kira is less talented than Killua, the one you've ALREADY chosen to be your successor," I said in a final tone.

I didn't intend to back down on this subject, and I'm sure Silva has already understood. I only hope he won't involve Maha in this equation.

"Sigh, alright, Illumi won't plant a needle in Kira, but I want to make sure he's strong enough to survive," Silva declared, massaging his temples.

It seems he didn't receive my decision well, but no matter, Kira will possibly be an important element in the Zoldyck family.

I only hope he'll be interested in the position. I'm sure Silva also sees that Killua isn't interested, and Kira currently has the best growth among all of my son's children.

But given Silva's remarks, he's going to test Kira soon; he surely wants to make sure he doesn't need Illumi, and I think it's a good compromise.

"I should get going; I still have to train this brat today," I said, turning my back to leave.

"One last question, should I teach Nen to Kira?" Silva suddenly asked.

"Why are you asking my opinion on that?" I said, looking over my shoulder.

"You know he's already fully physically prepared and isn't the official heir. So, it's logical for him to learn Nen after the Heavens Arena ," I said calmly.

After this question, Silva didn't say another word. I decided to leave him deep in thought.

...

"Kikyo, what do you think of Zeno's words?" Silva asked his wife, who was present during the entire conversation with Zeno.

"I also think he's right; my little Kira doesn't need the protection of his big brother," she said, tilting her head, with her finger on her chin, before answering.

"I see, I believe I'm the only one who hasn't seen my son grow up," Silva declared with a sigh.

"I've always told you to spend more time with the other children besides Killua," Kikyo replied, shaking her head from side to side.

"You're right," Silva responded with a strange glint in his eyes, as if he had made a decision.

Author's Note: I'm currently reading an interesting manhwa, and frankly, I now have the urge to write a fanfiction based on it.

I don't know if you're familiar with Lookism and Castle.
