19: Seaside Green

Yanire was a full-time inpatient at a hospital in Iceland for a full month after the incident. The doctors were most concerned about how the stress she endured would affect her going into labor, and whether or not the incidents where she had been physically injured would be long-lasting. There were several spans of entire days where she would enter a catatonic state induced by the mental trauma of being held captive, and this was what worried Adriel most as he sat at her bedside.

He watched the brown of her eyes fade and how she became a shell of who she had been before in certain moments. The doctors advised him not to touch her as it might be too much stress for her and thus for the baby. Adriel's heart burned. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. He wasn't sure if there was anything that he could do.
