I will protect her

Hearing father Zhi, Zhi Xin was startled because it was what he thought. He decided to stand at the top to protect his loved ones which were his life's only goal.

" How am I wrong in my choices? The stronger I become more ability I will get to keep her away from enemies. I will protect her. " retorted Zhi Xin

Hearing what Zhi Xin said father Zhi roared

" You cannot protect her, neither can I."

Walking towards window father Zhi looked at the dark sky and spoke with a determined tone

" She has to get married as soon as possible. The longer she would have the Zhi family backing her up the higher will be the chances of her facing death.

She has to get rid of the Zhi family's name to lead a peaceful life. If you want Zhi Ruo to live you will watch your actions."

Zhi Xin spoke, " I will..."

Before he could speak up father Zhi interrupted

" I have heard shadow is back and is regaining its foothold for a year. It was difficult for a mere guard to assemble the whole team but there was a reason why he was called the best of the best. I thought you would know about it but....*sigh* looking at your expressions I am sure you didn't have a bit idea about it.

( Patting Zhi Xin's shoulder father Zhi added )

This is how far you are from becoming the best. But the best has already returned if we wait for you to become the best ...(Looking at Zhi Xin with teary eyes ) we wouldn't be able to even see her dead body."

Clenching his fists Zhi Xin fell on his knees. This was the truth that he always ran away from. Looking at his son breaking down in front of him father Zhi felt uncomfortable, but he knew there was no way that Zhi Xin can fight him. This was also the reason why father Zhi never encouraged him for the path he chooses because once upon a time he was the same. He did the same mistakes.

After a few moments passed there was a knock on the door. mother Zhi and ruoruo entered the room.

When ruoruo saw her brother kneeling on the floor she quickly ran towards him and hugged him sideways and asked:

" Brother, what happened? Why are you kneeling? Has father punished you?"

Looking at her father ruoruo was about to ask her father what happened when she felt something wet on her hands. Astonished she figured out that her brother was crying. The person who didn't even cry when he almost died in an accident while he was 15 years old was crying.

Looking at his daughter who was flustered after seeing her brother cry father Zhi answered her question before she could ask

" Your brother is crying because I told him that you have to get married as soon as possible. Your brother doesn't want you to leave him"

Zhi Ruo calmed down and patted Zhi Xin's back while telling him not to cry as she will always visit him and if possible he can stay with her. It was easy for Zhi Ruo to believe father Zhi's words because Zhi Xin was overly sensitive in matters concerning her.

Once she tripped and fell causing her knees to be bruised but he didn't allow her to ger out of bed for 1 month after that.
