Right when Jonas was about to slam her to the shelf Alicia woke up panting and sweating profusely as if she had ran a marathon. It took her sometime before all the things that occurred came rushing through like an open dam. She looked down and around her only for her gaze to fall upon Adrien who looked up from a book he was reading to her. His eyes, a contrast to the haunting red of her dream, looked up, meeting her bewildered gaze. The lines of concern etched on his forehead softened as he closed the book, setting it aside to give her his full attention.
Alicia's trembling hands reached for the quilt that covered her, the fabric slipping through her fingers.
With shaky hands she gathered the courage to unveil the reality that lay beneath the comforting layers of the bedclothes.
