Chapter 6 city

Buck was sitting at the farm that he had been staying at for the day, he had talked to one of the men who he found out had the name, Keith, Keith told Buck that they were on the edge of Habbo harbour town and that there was a lot of excitement during this period as the hunter's exam had just started so people were rushing towards the harbours of the Kukan'yu kingdom with the new information buck received he realised that this world was vastly different from his old world and somewhat recognised the mention of the hunter's exam but couldn't place it in his memories so he dismissed it

He did partake in the hobby of watching anime but was only able to do it when he went to his friend's house but that was only when he was a child so his memories were a bit hazy when it came to the anime he watched but he did feel the name was familiar to something he heard in an anime, after all, it did sound like an anime name

Buck wanted to experience this new world and see everything it had to offer, the bad and the good and to live life on the edge, he did die once so what's there to be afraid of, he wanted to live this life doing whatever he wants to do

With this mindset, Buck wanted to go out already and explore the city despite the dangers of this new world and it is currently night, the danger would be even more terrifying than it would be in most worlds, many had the fear of the dark for the reason because it held the unknown the dangerous predators that were adapted to it held the advantage of the night and would stalk and take its prey undetected

Buck decided to venture out at night into the city he was too impatient to wait for the day to come and wanted to grasp this life already. The night was the time he felt most comfortable as he was used to the constant darkness of the night from his extra curriculum activities, he became a creature of the night and didn't fear it either for he knew that all he'd find in the allies is half naked thieves who couldn't even stand more than 3 swings of his sword in his past world or this world

From what he found out from the old farmers is that this world is developed in some ways more than his past world but was also lacking in some areas like transport

Buck also found out about the existence of magical beasts who rarely stray far from their territories and hunters who could hunt these beasts, Buck, after having his eyes widened from the adventure in outer space he's been on believed that maybe one of those magical beasts somehow pulled him to this world and began believing in magic, the thought of him being able to learn magic brought a shudder to his body but he also wanted to stay devoted to his sword, then the idea popped into his mind of having a flaming sword would be cool

Anyway Buck thought that maybe if he ventured into the city at night and met some not-so-pleasant company he could subdue them and take their money to buy himself a new sword

He knew that there weren't that many hunters or beasts around in the city due to the lack of information surrounding them, so that means the general public doesn't have many encounters with them and leads Buck to believe he will not have to face one

Though the hunter exams were going on now, he figured that not many would make it due to a lack of something, be that strength or magic and therefore that's why there is so few hunters, Buck set off down the mountain and reached the town where he noticed some differences between the worlds

It was like nothing he knew of before there was a lot of houses with plain red or blue roofs and he could see people walking around with weirdly coloured and shaped hair, some people had their hair in spikes on their head that were died blue

He also couldn't help but notice the weird style of clothes, being more medieval style where they were plain with minimal design and had simple plain colours.

People had stalls on the streets selling what he could guess were antiques while some were fruit vendors and others selling fish

But what Buck did notice was the ally ways people were avoiding while walking to their destinations and that's when he knew that society was the same there were still thugs hanging about to get a weak susceptible person to rob and steal from

But tonight was their unlucky night, buck thought as he walked towards one such ally where he could see people crouching down in

Despite the darkness that covered them Buck was easily able to notice them as though it was like a sixth sense in what allies thugs were in so he soon found one and set his target on his soon-to-be prey

He walked into the ally and spotted two people wearing bandanas around their heads and sharp looks in their eyes, one had a large knife while the other had a glass bottle in his hand

Upon the sight of Buck just walking straight up to them left them with a smirk on their faces

"Hahaha, this is going to be the easiest day yet he just sacrificed himself to buy our drinks, hey! Well drink one in your honour as well hahaha"

They both laughed at the thought of getting some easy money to drink with and the thought that they could enjoy beating a kid up

Buck saw the laughter but was not amused, he may have thought it was funny considering he knew he could easily beat them and outmatch them with skill in combat with his years of training and experience but he thought he shouldn't underestimate the people of a new world considering they might be stronger or have unique skills.

But from what he has seen so far this world is not too different and leads Buck to not think anything highly unexpected to happen, well out of expectation for an anime watcher
