Village

The next morning, Mary woke up from her bed and did her everyday routine.

She was still unfamiliar with this place but at least unusual things haven't happened so far. She looked around the house and suddenly thought of something.

Where is my phone? I need to contact my boss. She searched around the house but couldn't find it. Wait, I remember I was unconscious when my phone was with me, and then...I was here. So....does that mean my phone is still on the ground near my previous house!

Oh no! What should I do? I can't even contact Emily now. She must be worry-sick right now. Mary let out a sigh. Well...I can't do anything now. Since I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere....in a village. I doubt there would be any network here anyway.

Then, she heard a knock on the door. She walked towards the door and opened it. She saw Lily(the middle age woman from yesterday).

"Good morning!"She said."I hope I didn't wake you up from the knocking."

"Oh no, you didn't."Mary said with a smile."I was awake for a while so don't worry. So, what brings you here?"

Lily looked at her with a gentle smile and said "Well, I thought we could have breakfast together. But, it seemed that you had eaten. So, I won't bother you anymore."

Mary tried to open her mouth to talk to her but Lily just left, the moment she finished her sentence.

Mary stood there, dumbfounded. Then, she felt something grabbed her pants. She looked down and saw Jack looking up at Mary with his usual innocent smile.

Mary petted his head.

"Go eat your breakfast or it will get cold."

"Sister, who was that?"

"Oh, it's just one of our neighbors."

"Okay."

Jack walked away, heading to the dining room. Mary looked at him and sighed. He still seemed scared of this place. It's only normal since we moved here in a weird way. I hope he gets used to this since I don't know how to go back.

Mary looked outside the door and yelled to Jack.

"I'm heading out, wash the dishes for me."

"Alright, "Jack yelled back.

"Thanks, I'll be back soon."

Mary walked out of the house. She saw the old man with Lily, sitting in front of a house, chatting.

Lily saw her and called her over to join them. Mary refused her invitation.

"I'm sorry, I can't join you. I want to walk around the village a little. As you know, get to know this place."Mary said.

"Oh, I understand. Want me to follow you."Lily replied.

"No, thank you. You two can just continue chatting. I'm just going to walk around."

"Okay, don't get lost."

"I won't."

Then, Mary walked away. She walked around the village. There was nothing special instead of a well in the middle of the village and there were just houses everywhere.

She decided there was nothing to see and left. She headed back to her home and spent her day with her brother.
