Witnessing the battle of Ur

I sneaked into the city and managed to avoid Deliora with caution. When I entered the city the smell of burnt flesh and ash assaulted my nose. I almost vomited, This reminded me that everything around me was real.

I increased my caution and ignoring the panicking people slowly moved around, taking everything I felt was useful. Jewelry, clothes, etc. I didn't spare anything.

As I was focused, someone blocked my path. looking up I saw an old woman. She looked at me with anger, "Thief, We are struck by this calamity and you steal our belongings!". I was surprised I understand her language but since I was brought here by a system I realized it was natural that I would get some abilities to survive like language and such...

I stood up from my crouched position and calmly replied, "This is gonna burn anyway so why shouldn't I make use of it?!". She became even angrier, "We are dying, you could be helping us evacuate instead of selfishly gathering wealth!".

I felt a tinge of guilt but it vanished as soon as it came, "I am no hero! I am no saint! I only care for myself and to survive I have to be selfish! Sorry...". I walked away and ignored whatever she was saying.

I knew what I was doing was perhaps wrong but I didn't care. I had tasted death and to escape that pain and despair, I was willing to do anything. I never had family and the only grandparent who took care of me died when I was 19, a year after, I died as well. So I didn't care about leaving the earth that much but I didn't want to die so I chose to live at any cost.

I gathered many useful things and put them on a bag I had found earlier. I decided to leave the city. Suddenly, I felt a sense of deadly crisis and without further thought used the air to push myself forward at immense speed. Behind me, a yellow-ray flashed and lava sprouted from the earth causing massive destruction. I used the ground to form a shield to stop the falling lava from falling on me.

A few seconds after, I came out from under my shield and saw a massive line of destruction stretched for miles. Looking at the source I saw Deliora!

I thought back and realized that the old woman was in the line of destruction, not even her ashes remained! I felt incredulous at how easy she had died. My belief in staying alive increased further because if I had stayed behind with her I would have died!

The hot temperature slowly chilled and I looked back at the direction Deliora was and saw a massive ice shard slam into him. I felt astonished because I knew it was probably Ur who was fighting it.

The battle stretched on and I stuck around to spectate. Seeing it in person was much more thrilling, the destruction they brought completely destroyed whatever remained of the city. A brilliant white light suddenly flashed and Deliora became trapped in a massive Iceberg!

'Iced shell' I thought and approached the site knowing that Deliora was sealed. I saw an unconscious grey-haired boy and a black-haired one crying. I didn't intend to converse with them, instead, I touched the surface of the ice Ur had turned into.

I wanted to see if I could manipulate it like the other elements. I focused and felt a connection however it was very weak and constantly fluctuated. 'Sentient Ice!' I was taken aback by the way sentient ice felt like. I couldn't control it at all so I gave up.

"Don't touch it!", I heard the black-haired one shout with tears in his eyes. I looked at him and shook my head. I walked away ignoring him. He didn't plan on letting me though.

"Wait! Why did you touch it?! Did you feel anything? Can she be saved?!", I turned to look at him strangely, 'Why does he ask me questions like that?! Oh right! My body is coated in flame armor to regulate my body temperature and hide my half-naked body! He probably thinks I am some sort of wizard!'. I hadn't changed my clothes yet.

I sighed and decided to reply, "Listen, kid, She is the Ice. The transformation is irreversible but at the very least you should know that she is alive. Farewell!". I turned to walk away and he didn't stop me thankfully.

I turned to take one last look at him and noticed he was clenching his fists hard looking at the Ice. The awakening of his companion was my queue to move away. I walked out of the city with slight disbelief in my mind.

'Not only did I transmigrate in Fairy Tail inside a person who had probably frozen to death, but I also met Grey and Deliora. A woman died right after she had talked to me! This world...', I looked at my hands, 'Is much darker than I thought it would be!'.

I had found a map in the city so I took that out and using it I located the nearest city. I began walking with determination to survive. I knew that to survive I had to gather power and I decided to work on my powers in seclusion. I had enough Jewelry to survive for a long time.

I didn't know anything about my powers yet. I had a long road to go to be able to freely walk this world without fear of death but I wasn't discouraged. I knew that with my elemental ability I had the potential to be powerful in this world.

I ate an apple and embarked on this journey...
