UNVEILING SPELLS: PREPARATION FOR CONFRONTATION

Two uneventful weeks passed by since my last encounter with anything out of the ordinary. I had reached out to Shinso, and soon after, a knock on the door signaled the arrival of Kyoko, Toda, and Shinso.

"Please come inside," I welcomed them in, gathering everyone in the living room.

"Have you brought the book?" I asked Shinso eagerly.

Rei joined us, placing a kettle of tea on the table before sitting next to me.

"yeah…I hope you all are ready for this" He says and opening the book he keeps it in front of us.

Yeah…..like I said it contains everything about the spells that can help us fight Kanade. I look into the book and it is amazing.

"This book contains everything about spells that could help us fight Kanade," Shinso explained, detailing the three levels of spells: B, A, and S class.

"There are three levels of spells, B class, A class and S class spells.

B class spells contain spells that require less soul energy.

FIRE SPELL

ICE SPELL

A class spell demandes high soul energy,

LOCATING SPELL

TELEPORTATION SPELL

INVISIBILITY SPELL

TELEPATHIC SPELL

S class spells demand the most soul energy, there is only one,

REALITY SPELL.

That's it, these are all the spells that we can use against him." Shinso explains.

Maybe if we use this we can really win against him.

"Well, then we need to learn to cast these spells, Right" I say and take the book to keep it on the other table.

As I attempted to set the book on the table, an accidental bump caused it to fall open on the floor. Hastily, I retrieved it, hiding my surprise at something odd within.

Rei, noticing the commotion, asked, "What happened, Arata?

Is the book fine?"

Nothing," I dismissed quickly, placing the book back on the table.

"So, How much time will it take for us to learn how to cast these spells?" Rei asks.

"Well, It won't take much time, you will probably learn in a day." Shinso says.

"It really was tiresome." Rei says.

Well, she is right, for almost a day we were practicing casting B class spells.

Practice sessions ensued, focusing on B-class spells, leaving the A and S class untouched due to their perceived dangers during practice.

I asked Shinso many times but he always says that they are dangerous so we will have to use them directly during the battle.

We are currently in our room. Kyoko and Toda left a few minutes ago and Shinso is living somewhere nearby this apartment. Rei is in the bath and I'm sitting on the bed.

She comes out of the bath wearing her usual dress and sits next to me.

"You are not wearing that thing today?" I ask.

"Well, we never know when we might get attacked, Right?" She says, and sounded a bit serious

"Yeah…but you really looked good in that dress"

I say that but now I don't know what to do or how she will respond"

"Thank you," She says.

"What?..... That's it" I say. I didn't think she would only say that. She usually would tease me more if I said anything that was embarrassing.

"What?....you wanted to hear something else..

Well, once this is over I will say something else." She says and moves towards her bed to sleep.

I'm also tired so I also lay down on the bed.

Tomorrow we will make our plan and finally it will be that day soon when I have to face him. I hope if there is a way by which I can stop him from doing all this without killing him off, I would be really happy if we could all live together once again.

Maybe, it's a bit too early to think about that. First I need to stop him no matter what.

It's the next day and everyone is back in my room. I wonder why it is always my room. Can't we go to Toda's room.

"The battle draws near; I hope you're all prepared," Mother remarked, sipping tea Rei had made.

"Yeah… but what will we do once we find him? We can't simply go and beat him off. He really has the soul energy of all such people on Earth." Kyoko asks.

"For that I have made a plan.." Shinso says, his voice turns a bit low and we all come closer to him.

"Once we find him, we will use the teleportation spell to go near him and observe the surroundings.

You all have practiced the use of B class spells and that can be used as a distraction to him.

This is my plan, we will first use the invisibility spell and everyone except Arata will become invisible. He will talk to his father and divert his attention, at that time we will use teleportation spells and surround him and use the Fire spell together.

However, if he somehow manages to escape or survives we will back off a bit."

"Hey…What if he used the reality spell immediately?" Kyoko asks.

"That has a low chance since it is a S class spell and requires huge soul energy so he is most likely to save it for last" He says.

"Now if this plan doesn't work, we have to completely depend on Arata since he is the only one who can stop him." Mother says and we all turn towards her.

"what?" I ask her.

"If somehow all of us are defeated and our soul energy is being stolen then you will have to run away.

That's the only way, you can come back later when you are strong." She says.

"What's with that, I will never do something like that." I say with a loud tone.

"Listen, if even for once you let your emotions get in your way, we all lose and this means the losing of humanity.

What will you do if you have a chance to kill your father and save Rei, what will you do?" My mother says.

That started me, I never thought anything like that.

"See… you can't answer, that means you are not ready." She says.

Rei was by my side the whole time, she grabs my hand and I can see a smile on her face as if saying

"You will have to save us all"

Struck by the gravity of the situation, I promised to prioritize stopping Kanade if circumstances demanded, though my inner conflict persisted.

"Well, that's the only plan we can make since we don't know a thing about his ability and weakness… Arata please make sure to kill him off in a go and don't hesitate." Shinso says.

"Yeah… I know." I replied.

"So, finally the time has come, today at midnight we will show him what we can do to save the human race from extinction." Mother says and we all shout together.

Rei concluded with instructions to rendezvous at the park behind the school, urging everyone to rest until then.
