Sophia had told Luca that she would talk to him later but as the day dragged on and she was faced with having to sit in a car with him for likely twenty minutes because of traffic, she was filled with dread.
The thought of baring her insecurities to him felt awful. He didn't deserve for her to be so irrational and she knew it, but she couldn't help how she felt.
He was always so understanding even if it wasn't convenient to him, but she wanted to know what he thought. She could take his directness. She needed it.
As usual, they left the office when most people were gone so they could preserve their privacy for just a little bit longer.
Gus waited in the same spot as always and Sophia climbed into the car followed by Luca close at her heels.
Each time she got into the car, she felt bad she could no longer bring him the pastries she used to always give him. She shook away the thought so Luca wouldn't be concerned about her again.
