"I'm home…!"

After entering the dimly lit shrine, I slide the door back shut, announcing my arrival to the empty hall as I start to make my way through the building.

After being interrogated by the anti-skill officers they... Just let me go. Even though I had severely interfered with the incident, they didn't seem to care that I did so, they only cared that the apprehention and capture of the criminals...

Basically I learned that academy city's law enforcement isn't a bother if you aren't the one committing the crime.

Well I cooperated in the first place because I think it would be troublesome to get in trouble with anti-skill. Even if Hyde is a seemingly important part of academy city, I really don't want to get bit in the ass for pushing my luck.

Anyway, after that I dropped by a fast food restaurant, getting some food for me and Hyde before directly teleporting to the shrine.

Walking through the shrine, it takes me a while, but I notice that unlike before, the shrine is now filled with various decorations and furniture, seeming more like house than it did before.

Eventually, as I wander through the shrine, my ears pick up a slight noise, causing me to follow it to its source.

Eventually the noise leads me to one of the rooms of the shrine, near the center of the building. Standing outside the door I can more clearly hear the sound, a quiet thrum of music, as well as the occasional random sound effect.

Tapping on the door, I pause momentarily before opening it. As the door opens I see that the previous empty room as be altered, catching a slight glimpse of the interior.

On the center of the back wall sits a simple plain couch, a foot or so in front of it a brown wooden coffee table. On the other wall, opposite of the couch is a TV sitting on a tv stand, situated directly to the right of the door.

On the right side of the room, from the door, the wall is lined with bookshelves with glass doors on them, each of them having two drawers on the bottom of them. The bookshelves, as far as I can see, are filled with various anime and games, as well as other miscellaneous items, most of which I cannot recognize.

Taking a glance around the room, I spot my target quickly, between the coffee table and the tv, sitting on her knees with a videogame controller in hand.

Seeing the slight smile on her face, and the bright glint in her eye, I quietly slink through the room, setting the food down on the table as I slip onto the couch behind her.

"Hm, welcome back..."

Without taking a glance back, she calls out to me, a distinct distraction in her voice. Seeing her rather subdued behavior... I'm a little disappointed...

'Hm... We're barely strangers and she's already growing on me... What a strange girl...'

Leaning over the table I grab the bag of food, taking out my own as I leave Hydes in the bag, pushing it slightly towards her.

"So...?"

Hearing her prompt, I look back up towards her, seeing that her face is still starting forward, eyed glued to the screen.

Without a doubt that she can see me right now, I quizically tilt my head to the side, causing her to sigh lightly.

"So, did you have fun, any new friends, you didn't get in trouble, did you...?"

Unlike her previous distracted behavior, she starts rapidly firing off various questions, all about my time gone.

Taking a moment, I stat to formulate an adequate response in my head, a bit curious as to the reason of her questions.

"Um... I guess I didn't have a bad time... And Nemu was nice..."

Stopping for a moment, I stop to think if I should tell hide about the incident...

"... I guess I had a run in... With Anti-skill... Nothing serious though..."

Yet, as I say those words, Hyde stops suddenly, going completely rigid. Placing down her controller in an extremely controlled manner, she stands up suddenly, her back still facing me, making me unaware of the expression held on her face.

In one rapid movement, she spins around in an exact 180-degree rotation, before leaning forward and slamming her hands on the coffee table.

Scrutinizing me with a pinpoint like gaze, she looks over my body completely, before staring at me with an indescribably sharp glare.

"Those bastards... They didn't hurt you, did they!?"

Hearing this I stop mid-sentence, starting at her blankly.

'Huh... Is she that pissed over... Me?'

Standing up fully from her leaning position, she turns towards the door, rolling up the sleeves of her hoodie as she starts walking towards the door.

"I can't believe they have the guts to touch my little sister, I'll kill them!"

As the words she just said reverberate around my mind, it's previously blank state is booted out of gear, as a single question penatrated my mind.

"Huh... You were serious about that?"

Hearing my voice, she stops in her tracks, pausing completely before slowly turning around to face me. The first thing I notice is her face, which could only be defined as pissed.

"Huh? What's that supposed to mean?"

Directly staring into her eyes, without any fluctuations in my expression, I explain to her my question.

"When you said we were sisters... You actually meant it...? I thought it was just... An excuse...?"

Blanking for a moment, her face freezes, becoming an expression of confusion, as if at a loss as to what to say. Then, in the next moment, her face returns back to that of being pissed off, it to an extremely lesser degree than last time.

"Hah? You idiot, I wouldn't just say anyone is my little sister, you should be honored, you know!?"

Sighing again, she stops her irritated shouts, shooting me a small glare as she crosses her arms over her chest.

"Lily... Just tell me where those punks are... I'll teach them why they shouldn't touch my little sister!"

Despite her demands, I don't back down, still unsatisfied with her answer.

"Why am I your little sister all of a sudden...? And don't you think it's... A bit strange to suddenly change our relationship like that... Especially without my permission?"

"Of course it's not strange! I can do as I please after all... Plus I thought you were cute enough, so I allowed you to be my little sister, you should be happy I like you enough!"

Seeing the sturboness and the conviction in her voice... I decide not to question her any further, despite my want for the real answer...

Sigh...

"Just sit down... You don't need to cause any trouble..."

Going to retort me again, I cut in, not allowing her to speak...

"They didn't hurt me... Or even touch me... So please calm down... If anything it was my fault..."

Despite my objection, she goes to retort again, but instead of continuing she simply stops, lets out a sigh before sitting back down where she was before, facing the table instead of the TV.

As she pulls out the food of the bag, she starts to eat, as do I. During our silent mealtime, I catch her occasionally glancing at me, a slight curiosity on her face.

After gulping down her current bite of food, she glances up at me, opening her mouth to speak.

"Hm Lily... Wanna play with your big sister...?"

Saying this she gestures towards the Tv, obviously indicating the game console. After a slight moment of deliberation, I nod, causing a grin to break out on her face...

"Fuufuufuu, well you see...!"

Letting out a slightly haughty laugh, she starts to explain the game as I place myself next to her on the ground.

'Man... This is really strange... But I suppose it's not bad...'

--- --- ---

Hello hello... Sorry? It's a bit upsetting to say this, but updates will probably bee a bit more scarce in the upcoming weeks. Finals are coming up and I've also got a research project that I need to finish up to actually pass English...

Basically what I'm saying is don't expect much from me over the next few weeks, I actually need to do shit in school and I still don't like writing at home.

Anyways, Hydes and Mc's relationship is processing a bit strangely... But that's kinda the point...

Hyde is supposed to be impulsive as well as stubborn, and Lily really doesn't care much about anything as long as it isn't too serious, and this is just the way I thought their relationship would evolve.

Other than that, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Last time I saw a few people saying it was a shorter chapter despite it being one of my longer ones...

I usually write 900 words or so, and then it gets boosted up to 1k with my author notes. Last chapter and this one are both around 1.2k without the note and around 1.4 with. I suppose chapters with action just seem shorter than non-action chapters...

Well I just wanted to point that out...

Fucking~
