Chapter nineteen: Get used to it

Getting out of the diner, Rex drove his hands into his pocket and he walked away from the eatery to the garden.

His steps were light and elegant moving on the tarred road as his eyes were fixed on the man he had caught looking at him earlier. The man walked up to him falling few inches shorter than Rex

Bowing his head, he greeted"Good midday milor-"

"Did you know how Sivan died?" Rex asked cutting off his greetings

The man with black hair and black eyes raised up his head and shifted uncomfortably to rest his weight on his right leg.

"No sir, he said he will be visiting the woman's house and that was few minutes past the hour of noon which was the last time I heard of him" his voice was clipped as he explained, his face trying to hide the grief he felt over his friend.

Rex frowned looking past the man who stood in front of him, seconds passed and he slowly breathed out.

"Where was she living?" Rex asked about the woman whose house Sivan had planned to visit.

"Eastern part of Dokinngton town" he replied and Rex nodded.

"Go take his place on getting anything useful from the house" Rex stressed on the word 'useful' like if the man wasn't told, he could bring even a glass cup back from the house, he shook his head mentally and added "you can have someone go with you"

"Be careful, Neirosa wasn't any woman,she was very clever, you know not what you might meet" Rex said looking down at the young man standing in front of him.

His eyes twinkled in excitement that his boss was worried about him, seeing the expression on his face, Rex slightly rolled his eyes and turned walking away from the man who also made his way out.

Going back into the diner, he walked behind Alya and placed his lips on her forehead when he got closer and she was startled.

Alya turned to see Rex standing behind her with a smile.

"You're back" she said with a hint of pink on her cheeks over Rex's public show of affection.

Rex hummed and went to sit in front of her.

"Here take" Alya passed a tray of coffee and burger to him and he slightly frowned.

"You didn't eat?" he asked

" I did, I ordered another for you" Alya said smiling.

Rex's lips pulled up "you don't have to " he said , he picked up the cutlery and began to cut the burger making Alya raise her brows wondering if he was going to eat with the cutlery

Picking up a small piece from the burger he had cut, he brought it to her lips " Open your mouth" Rex said calmly.

"it's all yours, I have eaten but you haven't" Alya said refusing the burger, she was sure he didn't take his breakfast.

"I'm not hungry" Rex said with his hand still hanging in the air waiting for her to open her mouth.

"if I'm not wrong, you haven't taken anything since in the morning except that usual two cups of wine" she reminded him and his lips quirked up.

"Seems like you've gotten a hold of my meal menu" Rex said and Alya shrugged "You hardly eat so it wasn't hard to know what you took" she said

Rex's smile broadened "Now, that you know I hardly eat, open your mouth" he raised a brow at her "Come on,Say ahhh".

"Bu..." Rex didn't wait for her to continue speaking and he shoved the fork in her mouth quickly but gentle enough to not let the cutlery cause a tear in her mouth.

Alya's eyes widened and her cheek felt warm "Do you really have to do that?" she questioned him, her voice coming out muffled because of the burger in her mouth

Rex grinned and put another bite in her mouth "Am I not allowed to feed my love again?" he asked raising his well carved eyebrows, his eyes taking in her expression, "Not outside, I'm not used to it" She said, her cheeks were red partly because of him and the food in her mouth which she chewed slowly trying to hide the smile on her lips. "Then allow me to continue so you will be used to it for other days" he grinned

Rex picked up another piece from his plate and brought it to her mouth and she opened up eating from his fork "See, it's very easy" he said.

He picked up her ice cream and scooping it up to drop in Alya's mouth, he fed her continuously, each scoop fuller than the last ones where she frowned wondering what he was up to especially with the grin on his lips.

She brought out her tongue to lick her lips free from the cream that was on it, failing to pick up the piece in the corner of her mouth, Rex ran his thumb on it before bringing it to his lips to lick his thumb.

Seeing Rex lick his thumb slowly like he was licking his favorite candy was enough to make all the blood in her body rush up to settle on her cheeks.

"Rex" she whispered his name half glaring at him which only broadened the smile on Rex's lips. He found her more cute when glaring and looking flustered at the same time.

"What?" He asked her acting oblivious to why she called him. Alya turned to look at the younger couple occupying the closest booth to them. The boy looked amazed at his shamelessness while the girl was as embarrassed as she was.

She turned to look at Rex who was still waiting for her to speak, two seconds passed and she answered him "You can have the ice cream to yourself if you want"

"Mmm, I do want" he nodded, agreeing with her, Alya smiled and he stood up moving his seat closer to her, the chair screeched on the tiled floor as he dragged it.

Sitting down, he dropped the scoop spoon on the tray and dig two of his fingers in the ice cream bowl.

"What are you doing?" Alya asked in a low tone wondering what he was up to again.

"What am I doing?" Rex asked loudly and Alya cursed silently to herself. Rex grinned out wide as he paused to look at her "I am doing this" he finally replied pulling out his fingers from the bowl to smear the ice cream on Alya's lips.

Alya widened her eyes knowing exactly what he had in his mind but before she could protest, Rex had placed his left hand on the back of her head and he claimed her lips.

Alya's cheeks felt warmer as she looked at Rex who closed his eyes slowly feasting on her lips, he nipped on her lower lip gently then licked it, he retracted his tongue to swallow and he hummed in satisfaction which only turned her redder.

She placed her hands on his chest to push him away but she only ended up being pressed closer to him. She could feel the stares at the back of her head and she only wished to bury herself underground.

"Stay still momma" Rex said over her lips when she made to push him again. He smeared more cream on her lips and continued to lick and suckle on her lips.

Finally pulling away, he caught sight of her reddened face and he giggled softly, smacking his lips "I don't see the use of cutlery when there is another way which could make it sweeter" Rex said loudly for the people nearby to hear him.

Their eyes fell on the embarrassed girl and they could only shake their head in pity for her ending up with such a shameless boyfriend.

"That is so definitely cool, I think we should try it" The boy who sat closer said to his girlfriend who only elbowed him "Try it and I'll poke out your eyes with my fork" she threatened seriously but her face gave away where her cheek had turn warm at his words.

Ignoring the obvious stares, Rex picked up his glass of red wine and took two gulps of it to drown it all before sighing out in satisfaction.

"Should we go home now?" Rex asked Alya who was still feeling flushed from the aftermath of his ice cream eating, she nodded and stood up trying her best to not stare back at the others in the diner.

Subconsciously, she licked her lips and checked the time, it was 6:25 pm. She rubbed her sweaty palm on her skirt and turned to look at Rex who had a nonchalant look on his face like he had done nothing.

He stood up also and held her hands to walk out of the diner.

"Do you have anywhere else to go?" Rex asked Alya who shook her head

"Then let's go home" he offered and she nodded again.

Crossing to the car, Rex opened the passengers seat for her and she got in murmuring a "thanks" and he got into the car behind the driver's wheel.

Taking a look at Alya, he frowned as she appeared to be lost in thoughts "Leah?" He called startling her and she turned to look at him "Did I scare you then?" he asked to see her shook her head before she opened her mouth to speak "My head hurts" she said and Rex ran his hand on her forehead and she continued speaking.

"After you kissed me then, I heard these voices in my head" even with her complaining of her head hurting, it didn't stop the blush from crawling onto her cheeks which Rex was glad with, at least, he still affected her regardless the emotions.

"And strangely, it sounds like you, you were telling to...." Alya paused and frowned deeply

"What's wrong?" Rex asked "I don't remember what you said again" she said feeling frustrated

"It's okay momma, why don't we go home and you have a rest? It was an hectic day today" he said and she nodded.

Leaning towards her, he kissed her forehead before pulling back and started the car, getting back on the highway.
