Chapter 15

Anastasia frowned when Jamie let her into her room. She looked around like she had found the place strange. Coming upstairs, she had expected him to take her into his room.

Jamie noticed the curiosity and questions in her eyes. He held her hand and led her to the bed.

Jamie knelt to her eye level as she sat on the bed. "You don't remember anything?" he questioned.

Anastasia stared down at him. She nodded. "Do we have kids?"

Jamie drew in a collected breath. He smiled softly. "We don't. We've only been married for some months."

Anastasia flashed him a small smile. "I noticed I don't have a ring," she raised her empty ring finger to show him.

Her chest clenched. The thought of wearing his ring disgusted her. However, Jamie would see through her if she didn't play her cards well.

Anastasia forced a gentle smile, trying to conceal her true feelings. "I must have lost it," she said, attempting to sound sympathetic.
