Perfect Party Guest

Storm POV

"You don't like it?" I asked him. He seemed to be struggling with the right word to say and then he scratched behind his head. A nervous habit. I narrowed my eyes. I thought he'd like the gown.

"It's so....white," he said and smiled. What does that even mean? I moved out of the way so he could enter. And just like that, my mood had changed instantly. Scot swears!

"Fuck this. Storm you look lovely. I just didn't know what to say" he says but his eyes are so unsure. What's up with him.

"Let's just go to the party," I told him and grabbed my purse from my counter. The black little thing seemed to go well with my heels, I also had lots of wipes in it.

"Are you sure? Cause we can stay if you want"

"Scott!" I scold. He folds his arm leaning against the wall watching me as I parade around the house. Not like there was anything I was doing, I just wanted everything to be perfect.

"Can we go now?" I hear him grumble. I roll my eyes as we walked outside my apartment. A gruff man came out from the next apartment and dumped his trash outside. I winced almost wiggling my nose.

"This place is shit" Scott grumbled as he punched the numbers to the elevator. I pressed my mouth in a thin line holding back my comment. "What?" Scott scoffed, but I just keep shut. "This place is shit and you know that"

Ok. Because he lives in a fancy condo doesn't give him the right to insult my place. I glared at him shooting death arrows that he might notice but he wasn't even looking at me.

"Just be quiet" I complain. First, he comes in and doesn't appreciate my dress, and then he insults my place.

"Sorry" he murmurs.

We got to his car and he opened the door for me so I got in. He turned around and came and sat beside me. We drove in silence for minutes. Both having our thoughts to deal with. Scott's car suddenly stopped and I peered outside the window to see where we were.

He stopped his car in a secluded area surrounded by tall trees. Is he going to abduct me? I laugh at my stupid thoughts.

"Why'd we stop?" I dare to ask.

Scott took his seatbelt off without replying to me and then he turned in his seat to face me.

"I have to do this," he said. "Storm, I'm sorry I didn't say anything when I walked into your house. The truth is, I was mesmerized. You look beautiful than ever" he says warming my heart. I sighed relaxing in my seat. "You look fucking amazing. With or without that dress" he continues. Jeez! He's easily buying me over with his words.

"Scott" I start to say but he silences me with a raise of his finger so I shut up.

"Truth be told, I hate this party shit. I'm just going cause you're going" Scott said. I know he never wanted to come, but I don't get why he's doing it because of me. He has the right to say he wouldn't go, and he'd do just that. But here he is, driving us to the party.

"David's your cousin"

"So what? I hardly say a word to him" he frowned.

"You're supposed to be getting along with him. He's your family" I say calmly.

"You have no idea what family can put you through" he spits. His voice had lost it's meekness. Like there was ever one. I smiled trying to ease his frown and I cup his cheek.

"What happened to you Scott?" I ask. There's got to be some reason he's like this. His frown dissipates.

"It's a long story and one I'm never talking about...."

"Scott..."

"Ever!" He interrupts me and I shut up. If it hurts him to speak about it, I won't push it.

He sighed and ran his fingers through his soft-looking hair. "Look, I just want to have fun with you tonight" he admits in a shy way. That made me giggle. Scott, shy. The two don't seem to go. But I appreciate his terrible mood swing from gloom to shy.

"Me too" I smile. He brushes my hair away from my face and planted a kiss on my lips. He stared into my eyes and I did too, Stare into his eyes.

"Just remain this sweet Scott for a few more hours" I tease him and he chuckles.

"I'll see what I can do" he smugly smiled. We pulled away from the area and was headed for the party. Scott Aunt's garden party.

°°°°°°

The lights and soft music coming from the distance as we drove into a fine mansion made me realize we're here. Scott pulled over behind a Jeep wagon and stepped out to open my door for me.

"What a gentleman" I tease and he grinned popping his dimples.

"Let's get this over with," he says as he grabs my hand and started leading us to the garden of the fine mansion. All eyes seem to turn on us as we showed up.

"We sure aren't the perfect guest. Coming by this time" I whisper to Scott. He stuck his tongue out at me like a child. It's his fault we're late anyway. He just had to make a teary confession about how he wants to be happy with me tonight. Right in the middle of nowhere. But I enjoyed it.

"Who cares" he wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me to him. That single touch of his hand on my waist made me warm inside and I felt tingles. David's charming figure appeared through a doorway. I guess that's leading to the main house.

"Stormy" he grinned. I untangled myself from Scott to hug my friend. "I'm so glad you could make it" he whispered into my hair. We cut our hugging short when Scott cleared his throat. "You too" David smile at Scott who doesn't return it.

"Thank you for inviting us," I say quickly dismissing their awkward stares.

"You should meet my mom, Storm. I told her you're great at baking. She can't wait to meet you" David smile.

"I'll love to meet her too" I smile in appreciation. "You have a lovely home"

"It's my parents" he shrugged.

I nod. Scott returned his hands around my waist as David led us to his mom. For someone who's about to meet his aunt, Scott sure looks bored. I pinch his sides and he smiles for the first time since we stepped into the garden.
