A Trickle of Tale

Bai Xi's Pov:

He gently stirred me around and eased me on the couch and said , "Sit here".

He ordered before disappearing into the bathroom and came out merely a second later holding a wet towel.

He slowly eased in front of me and put the towel under my nose and gently wiped the blood away and then swatted back on his knees, watching me with a flicker of interest.

"Do I know you? Have we met before?" He asked in a questioning tone , his face spotting a shear contemplative expression.

Si Yihan , the globally renowned billionaire and CEO to one of the largest conglomerate chains worldwide and also my husband is asking me, if we know each other! As if we can be anyway more closer.

It's just because of a will and a bethroal proposal from decades ago that binded us in this holy matrimony of marriage.

And though married we have never seen each other face to face before today , not even during the wedding, as our marriage certificates were signed separately in the confines of our respective places.

We have lived separately ever since, as I didn't moved into the place I was offered after our wedding, that happened a year and a half ago and has since lived in my own apartment.

And so we never got the chance to meet each other before today , though I have seen him on various tabloids and magazine covers and hence I knew how he looked but it seems my husband hasn't seen me before, resulting in my husband's question.

And this put me in a dilemma as , if he is being serious and somehow get to know that I am his wife then I am in big trouble and this caused me feeling a different type of panic bubbling altogether. I tried to keep my emotions at bay and not to show them on my face.

I schooled my features with a neutral expression or I tried to atleast and said with fake confidence, "We? No, I don't think so ". I said that with as much confidence as I could muster and even tried to pass a small smile at the end which I am sure looked more like a grimace instead.

If he knew that I am his estranged wife he might strangle me and may traumatize me further with his famous infamous punishments, that I heard about from various sources.

"You seem like a trouble." He said with a slight mocking voice and I felt myself going all defensive on him, ready to put him on his place but then he continued, in a light voice, "A trouble I would love to take care of" His voice was barely audible but I still heard him clearly due to our close proximity. I nearly choked on my breath at his words.

Seeing him looking down at me in such a inquisitive manner stressed my panicked mind and it jerked in reflex and I stood right up , smacking the guy again on his chest.

"I am so, so sorry ", An apology tumbled out of my mouth and I put my hand on his chest caressing it gently as if to sooth the pain out. But a moment later I realised how stupid it must look and so I pulled my hands back and looked up—but all I saw is his blazing eyes which put me in a shock and I quickly took a step back to create some distance between us so as to avoid his smoldering gaze which is burning through me a lot fiercely than I would consider is normal.

I fell down on the couch and the sudden fall caused me to clasp tightly onto something which so happened to be Si Yihan's shirt. He fell on top of me and this gave me a chance to again get lost in his eyes which were I realised now, are not black but the darkest shade of brown that is mocha and I can already feel myself getting lost in them.

His hand came up and lightly caressed my cheek while the other was firmly clasped around my waist. He told me in his deep baritone of voice , "You have such beautiful pair of eyes , then why you don't seem to use them ? How I wonder you have survived this far without missing any limb or other parts?", He muttered with great genuity and threw a glance at my entire body, that it rendered me speechless to say anything more. There was also humor lurking behind those eyes , which I see are glinting mischievously.

I felt deeply insulted and very wronged as it is against all my rules that I live by. I am furious with his audacious question. Though before I can retort him, he asked me another one which left me feeling panicked again.

"What is your name?" This time there was a glinting curiosity in his eyes and I felt panic engulfing me.
