Prologue

Black's history_

Begin black is a curse, a sinful act never to be disregarded in the institution of the white. Begin a black has no value or purpose in life.

The women exist under the brutality of sexual violence by their masters or lords who've bought them. While the men are punished miserably.

Black means slavery, animals meant to be killed without any offense. Born to be black has no plans except to be slaves for the rest of their existence.

In the time of slavery abolition was finally abolished in the institution year 1833 after many years of fighting for by the great white men who's stood against slavery brutality.

They will forever be remembered as the heroes of blacks.

                  In year 1836

My life begins here. This is my story because I'm forever his handmaid.

              HIS HANDMAID.

A mother's love

A mother teaches her children to be confident and bold, her special love for her children more valuable than silver and gold.

I watched my mother applying herbs to heal the bloody wounds on her back, looking pitiful and humiliated at the same time. She just got a weep from her Lady she served Lady Eleanor of  Noah's. She notices the way I stare too much at her wounds.

"Isabella" she called to drags away my attention from her wounds.

"Yes mother" I answered quietly

"Have you eaten your food?"

"No mother, I'm waiting" I answered again hates being disturbed in my views.

"Waiting for who exactly?"

"You mother, I'm waiting for you"

"Don't wait go and eat"

"Not hungry mother"

"Then go and play with your mates"

"Don't want to play mother"

"Then, what do you want to do?" She asks getting impatient with my acts.

"I want to take care of you mother"

"Me?".      "Yes, mother".

She smiled handed over the piece of the quilt to me. I love it when she smiles, it gives me joy, happiness inside.

Isabella was given to me after my grandmother whose soul rests in perfect peace. I was 10yrs old then. We sever under the plantation estate as employees, not slaves since slavery has been abolished in institutions. Living well under the accommodation of our masters or Lord's paying us for our services and schooling for black kids not together with the white kids but that doesn't mean you can break the rules there.

Rules: stealing isn't allowed, taking more food than your usual plate is forbidden. Talking to a white or refuse to obey their orders will be punished severely for a week. These are some of the rules we abide to since we're looking for a living and a place to stay. That's doesn't mean some didn't refer to us as slaves. Yes! Some do, others refer to us as maids in a polite way.

Mother's punishment was she took more plates of food since she studied I eat too much. Besides, we're the kitchen employee along with other black women but Lady Eleanor is the one who measures our meal of plates every day never gets tried with the google glasses she wore all time.
