Get down

"It was my graduation day".

She said and I immediately understood what it was that she was talking about. Yes, she was talking about the incident that happened with her parents when she was just about finishing high school. I did not talk about it anymore as I did not want her to feel bad by remembering what had happened in the past.

"So what you are saying in essence, is that I should be careful with this Melissa girl"?

I asked and she immediately nodded her head.

"That is exactly what I mean. You need to stay away from her, and also keep your man away from her".

I was confident that I could stay away from her but keeping Jason away from her, was not in my power.

I wanted to, even if I knew I couldn't, I wanted to try but seeing the extent to which this girl could go to get whatever she wanted I'd rather just stay away from her, and away from Jason. He isn't my man to begin with anyway.

"What are you thinking about"?

Kanada asked but I just shook my head and said nothing. I couldn't tell her that what I had with Jason was fake and I could not tell her that there was no way to keep him away from this Melissa, as I had no right to try to protect our relationship.

Kanada decided to let me rest for the night as she also left for her room. I spent all night thinking but I couldn't figure out anything so I decided to let it be. The next day came pretty early as I was already ready to go to work.

When Nadia came downstairs, she checked the dining table to see if Jason was there but he wasn't so she decided to go outside and wait by the car.

When I got outside, I realized that he was already in his car and was about to set off. I did not understand why he was going to leave without me but I immediately rushed and got into the car.

When I got inside the car, I heard him speak.

"You should be resting".

He said but I was not tired and did not see the need to rest from anything so I shook my head and in response, I said.

"I am perfectly fine sir, we can go".

"Get down".

I had him say and the way he said it, made me look back. I did not understand why he was being hostile and even worse, it looked like he was ignoring me.

Jason said nothing after he had told her to get down and just kept looking at his phone. Not until he heard Nadia speaking.

"Sir"?

She asked which made him raise his head to look at her.

"I said get down".

He emphasized on the getting down and I did not think twice before getting out of the car. I could feel the coldness eluding from him and although I could not tell what the exact reason was, I definitely did not like the feeling.

I thought they were going to drive away until I saw the driver also come down and come over to where I was standing. He opened the door to the back seat for me which made me look at him confused as I did not understand why he was opening Jason's door but then he said.

"The boss said you should sit with him behind".

I looked at the driver a bit surprised at what he had just said. I bent a little to see Jason's face but he wasn't even bothering to look at me.

I noticed everyone was waiting for me so I decided to go in and figure out if he had something important to say to me.

I sat down and the driver closed the car. Soon enough, we were on our way to the company. The car was so uncomfortable that I just wanted to jump out of the window but I knew I couldn't.

Jason noticed how uncomfortable Nadia was. He knew they didn't end their conversation on good terms and he was thinking of a possible way of getting her to lighten up again.

Not knowing what to do, he stretched out his hand towards hers and held her hand under his.

I felt his hand on mine and I could tell that my heart didn't just skip one beat, it skipped so much more. He wasn't doing much, all he did was just hold my hand and he wasn't even looking at me but I couldn't help the feeling that was building deep inside of me.

He was doing things to me, things that I never asked for.

Soon enough, we got to the office and since my office was inside his, I couldn't stay away from him. I sat quietly on my seat and tried my best not to look at him.

It seems he also didn't want to get distracted as he gave me a lot of documents to sort out. I was seated on my chair for so long as I arranged the documents. I was so tired that I sighed unknowingly.

Jason heard Nadia sigh and he quickly looked at her to see if she was okay. She looked tired and that was when he decided to check his wristwatch. It appears it was past lunchtime but because he had put all his focus on his work, he didn't notice.

I was still putting some of the documents in a file on the computer when I suddenly felt someone lean towards me from behind. He wasn't touching me but he leaned so close that his side face was very close to mine as he kept looking at what I was doing on the system. I couldn't help but look at him a little but if I turned too much, I might just make a mistake so I decided to get rid of him.

"Do you need something, sir"?

I asked and he immediately stood straight.

"Let's get something to eat".

He said and began walking away but I drew his attention back.

"You don't have to be nice to me".

I didn't yell but I made sure I was loud enough for him to hear.

Jason heard what she said and turned back with his brow raised.

"I mean, there is no one here. You don't have to be nice and try to act romantic".

I said just to clear the air but he began coming closer. I have never seen anyone walk so majestically. He looked like he could bring down this entire building and still come out unscratched.

"I want to be romantic with you, wherever".
