chapter 13

Ailee baked a chocolate truffle cake for herself in the morning because she was getting bored.

As soon it was done she took it out and put it in the refrigerator to let it cool down.

After an hour she came back in the kitchen and added some Ferrero Rocher on the top.

She clicked some pictures of it and sent them to her siblings and Xavier with the caption :

~{Too bad you're not here (⁠◠⁠‿⁠◕⁠)}~

She laughed with a mischievous glint in her eyes and took the dessert in the home theatre room along with many other snacks to binge watch her favourite shows.

The next day Ailee sat in her garden reading.

She just got done watering her plants and was now relaxing.

While turning the page her eyes caught the sight of her bracelet.

When he told her he never had anyone to do these things for him she was shocked because all her life she was showered with immense love from her family that she never thought there would be someone who will be actually deprived of what she has.

She took it upon herself then, to give him as much love and care she can to make up for the years he hasn't received any.

Its been 15 days since he was gone and hopefully will be returning in a day or two. She didn't talk to him much because apparently he was very busy.

Later that night she was dining with her parents hearing them talk about their upcoming business trips and stuff.

"Lily will you come?" asked Emma after sometime.

"I don't know. What will I even do there?" she replied.

They were asking her to come to office for the celebration of Emma becoming the head of her department. They plan to eat outside if Ailee decides to join them and if she doesn't they will simply enjoy at home.

"Please Lils don't say no it's your company too you should come and visit sometime." Emma pleaded.

" Ok Ems I will, only because it is a special day for you." she said smiling.

"Yesss thank you so much sista" she hugged Ailee as she was seated right beside her and squealed loudly causing her chicken piece on the fork to fly and hit Alex on the face during her vigorous movements and they started bickering.

They all laughed at them and continued eating.

Ailee went up to her room a few hours later to find her phone ringing.

Her eyes lit up seeing it was Xavier.

"Hey " she said immediately after picking up the call.

"Hi " he said in his usual serious tone.

"What are you doing?" She asked settling down on her bed.

"I came out to take a breather." he said.

"Oh"

"And did you save some cake for me?" he asked remembering the picture she sent.

"No I ate it all by myself while watching stranger things. Alex even fought with me for it" she said laughing.

" Mhmm I am hurt." he said smiling nevertheless.

" Don't worry I'll make one for you specially. I promise ok?"

" You better" he said and after a few seconds he spoke again

"Its cold outside. Will you keep me waiting here?"

She gasped. It can't be-

"You're not here, Are you?"

"Why don't you check yourself?" he asked humming at the end.

She quickly ran towards her balcony throwing open the doors.

She looked around but found nothing unusual.

" I dont see anyone apart from a stray cat near the street lamp" she said looking everywhere.

" Hmm that's a cute nightwear you're wearing." he complimented making her eyes go wide.

" Why can't I see you?" she whined.

" Just come down will ya?"

"Umm it might take me more than 10 minutes will you be okay?" he smiled at her naiveness.

"You should be asking that from the passers-by" he said highly amused.

" No but its dark outside. Do you have a car? If yes wait for me inside hmm?"

" Yes Coco hurry up." he said obeying her orders and getting into the car.

She hummed again and ran out of her room without hanging up the call to check the whereabouts of her family.

It was all clear save for Alex and their mother in the living room.

"I'd have to tip toe" she said into her phone quietly.

" Why?" he asked.

" Alex and mama are watching TV in the living room." she said nervously.

Meanwhile Xavier was low-key enjoying this drama. He was getting thrills from their sneaky meet ups.

"Mhmm should I come and get you?" he teased her more.

" No I'm coming." she said going back into her room.

She put some chocolate bars in her pocket and wore her sneakers then went down walking as quietly as a cat.

She successful came out in the back yard after almost knocking down a vase.

"I am here" she said standing outside their backdoor.

"Took you long enough." he said from behind making her jump slightly and turn around.

"Hiii" she said waving her hands.

"Hii to you too" he said taking a hold of her small hand and guiding her to his car.

It was a black Mercedes that was blending well with the dark surroundings, no wonder she couldn't spot it.

"Are we going to the beach?" She asked putting on her seatbelt.

"Mhmm"

" Why didn't you tell me you were coming back today?" she asked pouting and looking out of the window.

"Now where's the fun in that?" he said smugly.

She huffed crossing her hands across her chest.

He pulled up her teddy bear hood and smiled.

She is so adorable.

Rest of the ride was spent in comfortable silence.
