DUO HUNTING

"Better be on alert as we sneak out. We can't get caught no matter what." Shiro warned Takashi as they both sneaked out.

"I understand. I still don't get why Kohta refused to join us though." Takashi replied.

A few minutes ago, all three of them had been in the room.

"Absolutely not. I can go when we all head out together but I'm not heading out with only two of you." Kohta argued with Takashi.

"It'll be fine." Takashi comforted Kohta.

"No, it won't. I've gone with him once and you haven't." Kohta strongly refused.

"What are you so afraid of?" Takashi asked.

Kohta answered immediately. "I had to fight with my heart in my throat. We had four members and that happened. Now, we're three and you want me to go? Nah… I'll pass."

"I see. Well, we'll be leaving."

Back to the present.

Shiro answered Takashi's question. "You'll find out why he refused soon."

Takashi walked behind Shiro until they climbed the fence and silently jumped down the other side.

"Now, the hunt begins." Shiro smiled as they walked further away from the estate.

After walking and walking, Shiro stopped. "They're here."

"Hey, I don't see anyone around us." Takashi whispered.

"It's fine to talk normally. They're here either way. They'll appear soon." Shiro pulled out the blue blade from the sheath.

Grrr.

Sounds came from close by but it was too dark and foggy to see far.

Clang.

Takashi pulled out his blade when he heard the growling.

"Now you believe me?" Shiro chuckled.

Then the undead started appearing one by one. "You should be ready. Not only dead humans are coming so be careful.

"I'm ready. I need to see the dogs you all talked about." Takashi replied.

"You see that tree not too far away?" Shiro pointed at a big tree.

"Yeah, I see it." Takashi answered.

Shiro nodded. "Good. Meet me there in an hour and we'll head back together."

"You're leaving me alone here?"

"Don't worry. You won't die. I'll only allow as much as you can kill." Shiro nodded and then ran off.

Takashi cussed. "The hell."

Three undead approached Takashi. He swung his sword and was happy to see the first one get beheaded. He attacked the second one immediately and cut it into pieces. The third one didn't escape the mincing.

"Having a sword is great." Takashi smiled and went ahead to hunt the next one before it would hunt him.

*****

Takashi sat under the big tree breathing heavily. "I'm beaten."

Shiro appeared a moment later. "It's only been thirty minutes. Don't be lazy." Shiro scolded him.

Takashi stared at him like he was the devil.

*Here, take this and drink." Shiro took out another can of drink and tossed it at Takashi. This time, it was an energy drink.

"I can't drink anymore." Takashi refused.

"Just drink this one. It'll help with your fatigue." Shiro insisted.

"Fine." Takashi opened it and had a sip.

"Activate skill: Donor." Shiro spoke in his mind as he stared at Takashi who was drinking from the can.

The Donor was one of the skills Shiro had received when he chose the Collector class.

{Skill: Donor Activated. Necessary Stamina has been given out. Stamina: 155(195). More will be given out when necessary to keep teammates in peak condition.}

Shiro smiled at the notification. But what made the smile brighter was the instant change in Takashi.

Takashi gasped. "It's amazing. I feel like I'm back to my peak."

"You're back to your peak. Now let's go hunt again." Shiro smiled and walked away.

One of the reasons for his smile was the stats that had been taken away to fully charge Takashi.

"We'll meet back here in thirty minutes." Shiro ran off.

"Well, I can't fail him." Takashi dashed away from the tree, searching for the closest undead.

He kept killing for the next thirty minutes.

After the thirty minutes were over, he headed back to the tree, his body still filled with energy.

"That was great." Takashi sat at the base of the tree.

"I know right?" Shiro replied from the other side of the tree.

"That scared me. You're here already and you didn't say a thing." Takashi shivered when he heard Shiro's voice behind him.

"I didn't think I needed to announce my presence. Rest for a bit and we'll head back." Shiro replied.

'Keeping Takashi in his peak condition for thirty minutes took fifty points out of my Stamina. That's big considering my reserve but since I can raise my stamina with free points, I don't see why I shouldn't do that. The system is amazing as hell.' Shiro's mind was working instead of resting.

Takashi replied with a smirk. "I'm not tired. In fact, I feel the same way I felt when we first left the estate."

"All thanks to me. Cheers and celebration. Now get up and let's head back." Shiro was already on his feet, standing in front of Takashi.

"Sure, but let's head to a store first." Takashi suggested.

"That would be a nice idea if it had been daytime. Those dogs we killed, it'll be midnight soon and they'll be moving around in groups sooner or later. I can hold my own against a lot of them but can you?" Shiro questioned his teammate.

"True. I might kick the bucket if we stay longer. Let's just head back to the estate. I just wanted to refill your backpack since we emptied it." Takashi confessed.

Shiro smiled and gestured with a thumb at Takashi. "It's fine. We can do that on our way out of the estate tomorrow or the day after so we're good."

The two began their walk back to the estate. "How was it?" Shiro asked.

"The first thirty minutes was hell, but the other thirty minutes were thrilling. I can't wait to drink some of that energy drink next time. It's packed with energy levels I've never seen in any drink."

"Ah, I see. There's a better drink I know. It's homemade and my aunt taught me how to make it." Shiro smiled.

"Are you sure about that?" Takashi asked not totally convinced.

Shiro just nodded and continued walking. "Yeah. You'll know when you try it."
