Wasted Love

Beatrice returned to emotions palace after sorting everything out at the foundation.

She was extremely glad to see Victoria and chatted with her happily.

Beatrice handed an invitation for the banquet of the chairman of A Group to Luke.

She had been handed the invitation to attend the banquet. She was very curious about the mysterious chairman of A Group and was eager to meet him, but she wanted Luke to follow her.

Luke agreed without thinking much about it, the banquet was being thrown for him so he was definitely going to be there

He collected the invitation card, " I don't need this card" he handed it back to her.

"But why don't you need it? Don't you want to attend the banquet?" She asked.

"Of course I'll attend it, but I don't need this invitation. The banquet is being thrown for me so there's no need for an invitation" Gu Shang said nonchalantly.

Beatrice was surprised to hear him before bursting out in laughter. Luke the chairman of A Group? That was sheer madness.

"If you are truly the chairman of A Group, then why are you always here? Shouldn't you be busy?" She asked teasingly.

Luke frowned, "It seems like you don't believe me, do you?" He asked.

Beatrice just brushed it off and thought he was messing around so she played along, "Sure, sure mr chairman whatever you say" she responded laughing.

"When we attend the banquet, don't be to surprised to see me" Luke said.

Beatrice shook her head and left with Victoria to only God knows where.

Luke felt like he had at least told Beatrice the truth, but she didn't believe him. She couldn't blame him.

The next day, a beautiful woman walked into the cafe, she was dangerously gorgeous and had this mature aura around her.

She moved to the counter and took off her large sun glasses covering her face.

"Madam president! What a superise to see you. What brings you here?" He asked.

"Nothing much, I just wanted to check on how you are doing, why... can't I?" she said smiling.

Luke raised an eyebrow, What was with that casual tone she was using now? Previously when she had visited, she was extremely respectful, but now she was too casual.

Luke didn't mind it though, he was just a little surprised by her change in attitude.

"Preparations for the banquet are proceeding smoothly, but I'm a bit anxious for no reason.

My contacts aren't responding to me any longer, I have a bad premonition about this" She said.

Luke was unbothered, "What's there to feel anxious about, I'm here with you, nothing wrong could possibly go wrong"

Selena smiled after she heard that. Luke was stunned by her smile. But wait, why did what he said feel so out of place, it almost sounded wrong for some reason.

As he was thinking about that, the door of the cafe was opened and a lean and beautiful woman walked in.

Luke frowned, he had expected Shawn to bring the contract, but Linda brought it instead.

When Linda saw the beautiful woman sitting next to Luke, she immediately recognize her, but she wasn't surprised because Luke was the chairman of A Group which had strong ties with the country.

She placed the contract before Luke, but before he could take it Linda stopped him.

"Why didn't you tell me" she asked with tears threatening to fall from her eyes.

She looked so beautiful and pitiful at the same time.

"Tell you what?" Luke calmly asked.

"You should have told me the truth about your identity, things could have been different" She said loudly causing John and the guys to come out of the kitchen.

"You never loved me, So why will I bother to tell you my identity.

When you pretended to date me, can you ask yourself, how many time we talked as a couple? Did you even have time for conversation with me? Did you and I even get to know each other?

You were here to only use me, you never cared about me, you didn't even show any regret when you left to marry Shawn.

And you still have the audacity to ask me about me why I didn't tell you!" Luke said with a cold voice.

"But..I..I...I... you still could have found a way to tell me, we could have sort it out" Linda said not backing down.

Luke laughed out in anger when he heard that.

"So tell me, would you have given me a chance if you knew I was the chairman of A Group?" He asked.

"Does this mean you only care about my status? He continued with a sneer.

"I...I..I..I." Linda was left strutting.

"My biggest mistake in this life was wasting so many years loving you. If you wouldn't accept me if I had nothing, What makes you think I'll want you now that I have everything.

You and I were never meant to be. Our relationship from now will strictly remain business only" Luke said coldly before going through the contract.

Linda was too speechless to speak, she stood there frozen like a statue. She did look like a gold digger, didn't she?"

After Luke read through the contract and made sure everything was fine, he signed it and handed it to Linda.

"John, see our visitor out" Luke said emotionlessly.

John came and led Linda out.

This place now felt so unfamiliar to Linda. She remembered when she was dating Luke, she was treated with so much respect whenever she came here.

One of the workers here, even acted as her driver, taking her to wherever she wanted to go in Luke's escalade.

She should have known that something was up, but she was too blind to see.

She got into her car and drove home, when she arrived, she handed the files to Shawn and without saying anything to him went straight to her room before locking it.

Shawn signed!!

Back at emotions palace, Selena was surprised, Linda was definitely the most unlucky woman she had ever met.

She had actually got the love and affection from Luke without even trying, all she had to do was put in little effort, but she failed.

She had investigated Luke after their first meeting.

Luke personal Life wasn't really kept a secret so she knew who Linda is.

"If I were her, I would have never let such a man go" She said seductively.

"Oh really, So would you have dated a regular guy with nothing to his name but a cafe?" Luke asked with an eyebrow raised.

"There's nothing regular about you. You being an eye candy will be enough for me, besides you have this aura around you which make people want to submit to you,

So of course I would have kept you and shower you with a lot of love" she said seductively.

Luke was really surprised by her bold nature, this woman was actually flirting with him, how bold of her.

He had always seen her to be a serious workaholic, he was surprised to see this side of her.

The saying, you don't really know people until you know them was so accurate.
