Steve's Time

"Only I know how long I've waited for this day to come.... but then again, you always knew I wanted swallow this company so badly so this shouldn't come as a surprise to you"

As Steve said this he walked towards Beatrice in great strides. Beatrice just sat in the chairman's seat looking at everyone and everything around her in a daze.

Her loss had now hit her, she had lost the company she had built from the ground just like that,

and this all happened within less than 48 hours. If three day ago a time traveler had told her this, she would have laughed her teeth off.

Though she had One heart pharmaceutical, this firm was the place she held dear in her heart because of.... him, she had nurtured it like her child, but its all gone.

She fell into a complete daze at this thoughts entered her mind.

Steve stopped in his tracks and looked at Beatrice dazed face.

She looked so beautiful and cute that it made him want to protect her but he knew it was not possible and he didn't even dare to dream about having Beatrice as his woman.

She had so many admirers and some were powerful enough to end him. Right now he just wanted to enjoy his success but not without gloating it.

He cleared his throat, " hey little girl could you move out of my seat".

Beatrice came back to herself and realized she was still sitting in the chairman's seat,

She got up from her seat and returned to her usual cold self again. Steve took his seat and felt the sense of power overwhelm him.

He looked at Beatrice with disdain, "the other day I remember you calling me useless and incompetent, but as the chairman a lot of evil things were done right under your nose and you could not even sniff it.

You sure are a competent person I give you that" the whole room burst out with laughter as Steve mocked her.

The other board of directors and shareholders joined in and started saying mean and hurtful things to Beatrice. They had always hated her and how she acted like she was better than them.

They hated how she made them look incompetent and irrelevant, they hated how she got all the credits for improving Beauty foundation. There was a whole lot of list they hated her for.

But the truth was that the only reason why they were what they are today was all because of Beatrice. She turned these small time investors into business tycoons and made them who they are today.

They all joined Beauty Foundation without any name for themselves or their small businesses, it was Beatrice ideas and innovations which has brought them this far, even impacting their companies.

But instead of being grateful, they wanted to be equal with her and began to hate her because she was better than them.

Beatrice stood there and took all their insults without flinching, she engraved this moment deep within her heart before leaving.

She went back to her office with a nonchalant expression to pack her things but when she got there her secretary had already done that.

Her secretary had also packed her things too.

"You didn't really plan to leave me here, did you?" she said with a smile.

She and Beatrice both smiled and walked out of the executive floor.

As they were leaving they could here the mockery of some of the workers as they all said all kind mean things to her.

Though she treated them nicely, she was a bit cold and strick, making her employees see her as an arrogant person, so of course they were happy to see her downfall.

"She acted like a saint, but was actually such a greedy person,

I know right, evading tax and keeping our hard work all to herself while giving us so little, despicable".

Such conversation were heard by Beatrice as she passed by her former workers. It got even worst when she took the regular elevator because she was denied access to the President's elevator by her staff who were kissing up to her just yesterday morning.

Only God knew how much they endured in that elevator, but Beatrice will to keep a straight face was applaudable. Ellen had already fought several times before they got to the entrance of the company.

Beatrice saw Anna, Maria and Jane waiting for her. They all laughed and cuddled together.

"Since you're leaving, am also quitting. you were the only one I found Worthy enough to compete with, but with you gone this place means nothing to me" Jane said arrogantly.

The shy Anna and bold Maria nodded in agreement, "Besides we hate Steve and can't stand him" Maria said.

He's always trying something funny with me, without you here am scared of what he would do to us" Anna also added.

They all stepped out of the building and saw a crowd of people surrounding an area at the entrance.

There stood a man wearing a black long sleeve shirt with black jeans and shoes. The man was extremely handsome to the extent, he made all the women hearts beat faster just by staring at them.

A perfect and chiseled face as if carved by the gods themselves, smooth and silky black hair which made some women even jealous.

He wore sunglasses and had his arms folded on his chest as he laid back on his black escalade, making him look more cool, and dangerously handsome and appealing.

Many women gathered around him as they took pictures of him, he didn't seem bothered at all so they took all they could.

When Beatrice and the girls saw Luke, their jaws dropped.

"I see why you chose him" said Maria joking.

"Why do I suddenly feel like competing for your husband" Jane said seriously.

Beatrice rolled her eyes and moved towards his location.

When the bored Luke saw her approaching he lifted his leaning body which was resting on the car and started waving at her.

"What are you doing here?" Beatrice asked when she came to Luke's side.

"I only agreed to not follow you when you were coming, but I never said I wouldn't pick you up"

Luke replied with a smile.

Hearing Luke's words made her feel warm and loved.

"What a useless man, you couldn't even protect your wife and you still have the face to show up here" said Ellen softly and quietly, but Luke heard it but decide to ignore her.

Luke opened the passenger door, " Get in and let's go have fun" he said with a mysterious smile.

Beatrice nodded and handed her keys and things to Ellen before hoping into Luke's car.

Luke smiled at Anna, Maria and Jane and nodded to himself. He climbed in and drove off leaving all the women in a daze.

"I want to get rich and have such a pretty boy too" cried one of the women.
