Land a date

"What are we doing here? By the way, how did you get a free pass on a place like this." He asked Leo, who had set up the venue for their get-together tonight.

The place was crowded with celebrities and influential people as the two pointed out. Although he was not a fan of any of them, he did recognize some of the people present in the scene. There was a group that he recognized from the other company he had dealt with who greeted him as soon as he entered the club.

As far as he had known Leo and Dennis, this kind of club was not their usual cup of tea. They would rather hang out on the beach with several cans of beer on a back of a pickup truck, with music, and steady fire, burning on the sand just close to the shore.

"The father of one of my students owned this place. He wanted to talk to you about donating to the foundation. His son has great potential. I could see you and Oliver in him. He would like to support him as much as he can." Leo explained.

Leo was a tattoo artist by profession. He owned a big tattoo shop in the city and several small ones in various locations. But, his true passion was surfing and teaching kids how to start surfing.

Dennis, on the other hand, was into business. He owned several sporting shops located in key beach resorts that cater mostly to water activities, especially surfing boards and paraphernalia.

His brother, Oliver, was one of them. Free-spirited. They could not be confined inside an office. He wanted the same lifestyle, but he was bound by his obligation to his family. He did not have the luxury to choose the kind of life he wanted. He had the responsibility to become the leader of his father's legacy.

"Oh! That's fantastic. Will we be meeting him here tonight?" He asked Leo, focusing on his friends.

"Yeah, he'll be here," Leo responded as he searched the crowd.

"Enough of work. We're supposed to have fun." Dennis interrupted their discussion, handing them their drinks.

"So, what happened to your date last night? Do you think you found the girl of your dreams?" Leo teased him incessantly. He was used to this friendly bantering.

"Would you stop it?" He annoyingly chastised his friends, but still smiled remembering Sophia's personality. He was indeed impressed with her.

"Come on. Is she gorgeous just like in the magazine?" Dennis asked him inquisitively, excited to hear what he had to say.

"Don't be selfish, man. We just want to know what it was like to be with a supermodel." Leo piped in when he refused to answer them.

He knew they were just teasing him. Back at the beach, they were the star of the show. Women flocked on their sides. So, being surrounded by sexy and gorgeous women was just normal for them.

"If you really must know. It went great. She was intriguing and exciting to be with." He offered the slightest information, then tried to change the topic. "Where is this guy you were talking about?" He asked Leo.

"I have not seen him yet, but he promised to meet us here." Leo took a swig of his drink before sitting back comfortably on the chair.

"What about you guys? Anyone special yet." He tried to return the question to them, but all he got was the same answer.

"Not ready to be tied down yet." Both said in unison. A phrase rehearsed through the times.

It was not for lack of women, they were just not yet had enough of the good life of being single. Just noticed the women around them, trying to catch their attention. They were Adonis, with their perfect tans and muscled body, courtesy of years of training.

If he and his twin, Oliver were inseparable back then, you could say that Dennis and Leo were the same. They were like brothers although they did not share the same blood.

"Here he comes now." Leo motioned to the man walking towards them. "This is Mr. Emerson Lambert." Leo introduced the owner of the club to him.

"This is my friend Mr. Rafael Walker. He was the founder of the Riding the Waves Foundation." Leo said. "And you already know my friend, Dennis."

They all shook hands as introductions were made and took a sit around the table. It appeared that Emerson was a fanatic of the sport since he too once tried it in his youth, but did not make the cut in the international scene. Frustrated he stopped and just went back to business school.

When he learned that his son had potential in the same sport, he immediately supported him and the other athletes who had potential. Learning about the foundation stirred his interest to participate in it.

"You are going to do a lot of good by helping those kids and other enthusiasts by providing their needed support. We also sponsored small tournaments for amateurs to help build their confidence and interest." He said to Emerson, convincing him that their cause was worth his time and sponsorship.

Although he had been giving enough to his sponsored kids, a few more help would go a long way for the sport to grow and continued to produce new athletes. As far as the surfing community went, many were struggling to make it to the professional league.

"Well, it was nice to finally meet you. You and your late brother are a legend to my son. He would like to meet you someday." Emerson said as he stood up to bid them goodbye.

"I would like to meet him and maybe show him a few tricks someday." He said as he extended his hand for a shake.

"The drinks are on the house. Enjoy yourself and count me in on your projects. Make an appointment with my secretary so we could further discuss my donation." He directed his attention to Leo who was already sporting a huge grin on his face.

Emerson walked away from them, leaving Dennis and Leo on a high. Thinking of the new projects they could implement for the foundation. Without them, he could not imagine the success of this endeavor. They had been his support and backbone of the foundation.

After a while, he thought of his twin brother. Oliver would have been over the moon with this project. He was the better surfer and the more passionate between the two of them.

"What are you thinking? We should be celebrating." Dennis said, noticing him brooding on his chair. He took a newly placed drink on their table and handed one to him.

"Just missing Oliver. This would have been his legacy, not mine." Saying out loud his thoughts.

"We missed him too." The two echoed in the background.

"Let's drink to Oliver and his legacy." Dennis cheered as he raised his glass in the air as a salute to their friend who had been their leader and companion throughout their journey in the surfing world.

On the other table just a few meters away from them, Dennis noticed two girls who were having a great time. Recognizing one of the girls that were facing their table. She was with another girl, probably another model from the way her figure looked with her back to him.

"Hey, Raf. Is that Sophia? The girl you went out on a date with last night." Pointing to the particular girls, he was looking at.

"Where?" It was Leo who first tried to peek at the said direction of his fingers. "Oh, yeah. That's Sophia Lawrence. Wow. Look. She is with Sabrina Sanders." Leo added upon seeing the face of the other girl when she turned sideways.

Raf finally shifted his gaze to the direction his friends were pointing. He did recognize Sophia, his date last night. Looking at the figure of the woman who had his back turned to them, the name somehow was familiar. After a few seconds, he did remember her. He tried to recall the face of Sabrina Sanders who stayed at his resort a year ago.

Somehow, he could not picture her anymore since he barely looked at her in the few encounters they had. Maybe if he saw her face, he might have some recollection of her appearance, but he still doubted it.

"Maybe we should go over there. Introduce your friends to the lovely ladies." Daniel said, who seemed anxious to meet them.

"Why not." He grabbed his drink and moved in their direction, with his friends, walking closely behind him.

He was out to have a good time. Based on the result of last night, he would not mind spending some more time with her again. Maybe he could help his friend land a date with Sophia's friend. It was quite obvious that Dennis was interested to meet the famous actress. It would be his pleasure to help him make his acquaintance.
