The Hermit

It only took seconds for the boy to fall into a clear lake. With a splash the boy hit the water on his side. With an expression of pain. plastered onto the boys face, he proceeded to float atop the water and go further into the lake.

Looking around the boy admired the mostly smooth surface of the water. Looking up the boy had finally spotted what he was looking for. The shining light in the sky. The sun.

Looking at the boy, he spent almost an hour looking at the sun. His eyes didn't look irritated or bored, just curios. Waking up from the trance the boy heard a splash and felt ripples. Looking around, he spotted an old man at the waters edge crouching in a blue sparkly sand washing an animal carcass.

When the boy looked at the old man a second later the old man looked up at the boy. when he spotted the boy he had a look of surprise and confusion. After a couple seconds the old man finally shrugged his shoulders in show of not caring. After a couple of minutes of cleaning the carcass the old man finally left.
