chapter 5- Through the Shadow

"Isabella, where did you go?" Thaddeus's voice soft and gentle held a certain pain that Isabella never heard before. He scanned the area, looking for any sign that she was here. 'Could she still be here?' With hope that she may, he scoured under the bed and behind all the furniture in the room. In the last hope of finding her in this room he made his way to the closet, reaching out to open the door. The door flung open with force that startled the few people that were around him, looking for Isabella. "D*** it!" He shouted and raised his fist up, he punched the wall with such force that the area around where his fist hit cracked. 'Where could she have gone?!'

"Thank god there was a shadow here." She said while looking around at her surroundings. "But... where the h*** are we?!" He asked while looking around with a hint of curiosity but a bucket full of worry. "Your in the shadow realm, specifically Holo. It's a popular city here. It's like the place you call Las Vegas but with some differences." She said while making her way to the city. Its bright lights glowing in a wide array of colors. "But didn't you say that people like me are killed by the people that live in the shadow realm?!" His voice squeaked. "Yeah I did say that but that really only matters if your in your realm. Here everyone will think that you are a shadow as well but you can not touch anything or anyone here. That is a dead give away that your a shade. And trust me you don't want the people here knowing that." She said turning around to tell him this, she looked him right in the eyes. "Do I make myself clear?" She said stopping in her tracks, " I really don't want to have to save your a** again." She said in a dry tone. "Yes I hear you loud and clear. Wait when did you save me?" He replied, he was obviously confused by her last statement. "I saved you back in your bedroom. Remember how those people that were looking around? They were shadows and they would have killed you on the spot if they saw you because your a shade. They may not have been after you but they would have killed you to get what you gave them." She said rolling her eyes. 'Is he really this stupid? I can't handle looking after someone that is going to be asking a million questions every time a take a step forward.' She thought with a sigh. 'This going to one long day, isn't?' She thought, sighing once more.
