The end of the lone wolf

"Hey, guys..." The Chiseled Jaw evaded the hellfire chain with a minor breath. "What about... The Revengers."

"...Can you just focus on the battle?" Aurelia spoke while casting an ice shard.

The Avengers or Revengers, as The Chiseled Jaw refers, were circling the lone wolf with a new and revised plan.

The Chiseled jaw lunged at the wolf, and the wolf, in turn, flung his chain at him. But before the chain can even touch the young hero, he quickly changes his trajectory. The chain, again, passed by him.

Taking advantage of the slip, Tom quickly punched at the wolf with his giant hands.

The chain was stretched out; there wasn't any time to retract it. He used his magic to block the giant fist.

*Bam*

"...Mhmm..." Tom grunted as his fist made contact with a C-class villain's power.

At the same time, a fireball and an ice shard flew toward the wolf.

He swung the chain sideways and disintegrated both spells, but was slow to react to the Chiseled Jaw's sword.

He used his arms to block the mana-coated sword. Which, of course, was not a good idea.

The sword stuck deep inside his arms. A mere F class was not a match for a C class on a normal day, but right now, when surrounded by five F classes, the exhausted C class was struggling.

But the kids also knew this was not enough to kill him. Even though he was exhausted, he was no kid. He was, after all, a C class, but the kids were not trying to do the impossible of killing him. They were buying time.

The strange and mysterious white-haired boy, Leviathan's plan, was to buy time until Home Bringer arrived here, which was the only possible way to leave this hellhole alive.

"You think this is enough to--- Ahhhh!!!!!" He was abruptly cut off as a sharp pain crept through his arm. Which he was no longer able to feel.

Blood was dripping from the black blade, which was levitating in the air.

"YOU DARE!" the injured wolf howled and turned to look at the white-haired brat who was casually just standing there like none of this fight mattered.

"Now!" Commanded Leviathan.

The ground started to vibrate as a water-like substance suddenly started to pour out from the ground. Flooding the area. It crept throughout the wolf, which he dispelled by expelling his mana from the body.

"Keep it going. He has already expanded too much mana; he can't do that forever."

Trails of smoke started to form from the water-like things. In a moment, the smoke turned into steam.

"AHHH!!!!" The Wolf screamed in pain. Pain from a superpower is one thing, but pain like this is another case.

Taking advantage of the smoke screen, the Revengers attacked the wolf relentlessly. He responded with his own power, but he was pretty much blind now since the smoke was still present.

"Why the fuck isn't he dying?" Tom frustratingly said.

"Cause that is the power of a C-class villain," Aurelia stated the facts.

In the midst of the relentless attacks, the Wolf leapt outside the steam. His whole body was boiling like a stuffed turkey being smoked. He then quickly unleashed his chain using his remaining arm. Which was parried by the swordsman who flew away from the sheer power.

"NOW!" Once again, commanded Leviathan.

"Ice Bomb!"

The moment the Wolf touched the ground, his whole body started to freeze from the bottom. He knew he would only waste his mana breaking it. He could preserve that for defending.

Like in a hidden cue, they all used their special power on the half-frozen wolf.

Despite the many attempts, they were still not doing any real damage. Even after being joined by the flung-away superhero named The Chiseled Jaw.

Aurelia couldn't use any spell, as she was maintaining the ice cage by supplementing it with her mana.

"Ha ha, you guys are still useless. What are you even trying?"

"It's tr-true. What are we going to do now? We can't finish him with our current strength. Even if he is shackled, we can't do shit." Hannah worriedly spoke. It was the collective thinking of the Revengers right now, except for, of course, our trash hero Leviathan.

"What's the next plan?" Aurelia looked at Leviathan.

"We will kill him."

Everyone looked at him. They thought he still had other ideas; after all, the wolf was caught, as he had planned.

"How? We can't do anything to him." She spoke her frustration.

"I can do it..." His sound trailed off as he saw the 'thing.' The thing he was waiting for since the beginning of the battle. A red light streak at the far end of the other side. The same red light he saw before regressing back.

Before anyone could notice the red streak, he powered his Moon blade at full speed. He pumped up his reserved mana to fully power it up.

*Thud* The blade sliced through the neck of the corpse, which has a hole in its chest. The hole in the ice quickly healed to its former shape, as Aurelia never stopped pumping her mana into it.

The sound of a head hitting the ground attracted the gang's attention and everyone turned warily to look at the sound.

They were all speechless at what they saw.

The almost invincible lone wolf just a moment ago is dead. His head rolled on the ground. Blood droplets fell to the dirt from the black blade, levitating in the air just behind the headless corpse.

As for the red streak of energy, it passed by the gang at the perfect time when they turned to investigate the thud sound.

"Wh-what the fuck happened?" The Chiseled Jaw literally had his chiseled jaw on the ground in astonishment.

"How di-did you do that?" Hanna was baffled beyond words.

"..." As for Tom, he was just standing there like an idiot. Stupefied.

"...How? Aurelia cannot understand how a kid like him, who was of the same age as her was able to kill someone as powerful as the wolf like that. Even their collective attack didn't do any shit to the exhausted and caught wolf, but he killed it without anyone noticing.

Seeds of jealousy were blossoming in her mind.
