WHISPERS AND SHADOWS

Claire's eyes roamed the area as soon as she stepped into the cafeteria with Lucas. She was looking for Nick. A smile curved her lips as she found him sitting calmly by the window, his face expressionless as usual but handsome nonetheless. A frown however replaced the smile on her face as soon as she saw Stephanie move to sit with him. Stephanie was carrying a tray containing two dishes so she most probably was coming from the counter where she had ordered and collected both her meal and Nick's.

She saw Stephanie say something to Nick as she sat and he nodded at her. A small smile even curved his lips. Claire scoffed internally, biting her lower lip in disgust.

"Hey Claire, I found a seat for us, come on," Claire heard Lucas say and felt him reach out to take her hand in his, moving towards an empty table while pulling her along.
