Chapter 1

Run, that's all I think as I tear through the woods. Hide, I run down a hill and slip…"shit" I whisper under my breath. Fuck now they will know where I am. I look up at the night sky and spot a thick tree, perfect.

Sprinting over to the tree I grab for the first branch I see. I'm in no way good at climbing well anything but it's the tree or the giant jaws of a rain mountain werewolf, correction 2 of them. I grab another branch. With what minimal upper body strength I have I hall myself up and lean against a branch, which I hope is high enough to hide me from the gigantic wolves.

I hear their paws first, The noise they make reverberates off the ground and into the forest floor, up into the tree I'm leaning against. I shudder damn they are powerful, at least that noise is. As they get closer my breathing increases it's frantic pace, I bite my tongue, hoping that will help quiet me down, they run right past me, thank god.

Wait…no! The silver wolf turns it looks in my direction but not at me, a little below, thank you tree I mentally think.

The wolf turns it's head back and raises its head to the half moon, oh no. I quickly place my hands over my ears and wait for it. A millisecond later a earth shaking howl rains the air, it only last a second but leaves my ears ringing.

After the silver wolf howls the 2 of them sprint off in the direction of dense forest. I debate climbing down, are they really gone? Yes it seems. Climbing down isn't as hard as climbing up so I do it relatively fast, glancing one last time the werewolf's when than turn the opposite direction.

I'm so killing Peter and Sky for this dare, I'm nice with my dares! Theirs are all about Running through Wolf Territories and jumping off cliffs. They know I'm not to give up on challenges, especially rare ones like this.

I run through the forest, back the way I came and spot the road that leads off the dense forest. Crossing back onto the road I feel a sharp pull, not a bad bad feeling, but a feeling like I am being shoved back out of the forest. I know it's the wards protecting the Rain Monument wolves territory, didn't really stop me, just announced my presence to the alpha and beta's.

Standing a few feet from the hell forest are my two best friends, Peter who is grinning way too much and, Sky who has a panic look in her eyes and a small smile on her lips.

"Haha Sky you owe me 20" Not surprised they bet on me I stop right in front of Peter. "Hell no that money or whatever you were betting on belongs to me, because I just got chased by two huge woods for you". I smile up at him and he pats my head, which he knows I hate when he does that. I smack his hand away and turn to the girl who I call my soul sister. "Hand it over Sky" she smiles and instead of handing me my well earned money she throws her hands around me in a hug. I tense not being a touchy feely person but I relax a second later. "Don't let that idiot convince you to do something like that again"! She whispers as she pulls back. "Hey! She accepted the dare"!! Peter points out, but Sky just glares at him and points back "Yeah, After an hour of you begging her and promising her she would be safe, which you didn't know that for sure". I laugh at them and think back, yeah sky is right. "You did you that Peter, but I'm glad you did while that was extremely scary it was a Hyde adrenaline rush". Peter is grinning again and Sky just rolls her eyes and marches in the direction of her car. I laugh and follow after my friend.

"Sooooo what did you see"!? Peter catches up to me and slings an arm around my shoulder while keeping pace with me. What did I see? Nothing really…but at the same time I feel I did see a lot. "Uh well when I crossed through the wards it was so quiet, and everything felt fresh. I was going to try and see if I could spot a house or village but nothing but forest was what I found. It only took a few minutes for my to hear the howls, so I ran. But 2 of the Bata wolfs spotted me, at least I think they were Batas". Peter stops walking which in tune stops me and he turns me to face him "Fay you saw 2 bata wolves"?! I think back and try and remember their size and colors, one silver on the bigger size, and the other Auburn on the smaller size but still huge. "I don't really know what rank they were, didn't really have have time to ask Pete". He looks at me with surprise than to Sky who's still a few feet ahead. "Wow…that's cool I've only seen a wolf in it's wolf form in videos and pictures, I bet it's cool seeing in in person" Peter admits to me as we finally walk off the road and to a gas station where Sky parked her car.

"Yeah if they hadn't been chasing me I would have thought it was cool too" I laugh and wait for sky to unlock the doors.

Once we are back in the car sky turns to face me and asks "So back to the house or you wanna go to the club"? I think about it, I can feel the adrenaline fading away so I'll probably crash soon so I tell her to take us home.
