Ch-48
Next day…
Rahul woke up early. Early in the sense too early. It's only 4 am in the morning. His wife was still sleeping in his arms. He wished this could happen every day. But it would take time. He could see her sleeping like a crushed ball. She kicked away the blanket. She looked quiet and cute. He wondered when she would start trusting him again.
He broke her walls and worked hard to make her trust him but everything got ruined. Can he win her back again? He wished to.
Suddenly the alarm rang in the room. Laya sat up straight and with shaky hands, she turned off the alarm. Yesterday she got her phone. She forgot that she set up a default alarm that would ring at 4 am every day. And even today it rang, waking her from her deep sleep.
Rahul was stunned at her actions. He never thought she would wake up at 4 a.m. But he also could see she was panicking about something.
Getting up from his position, he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Why are you up?" he asked, nuzzling his nose in her neck.
Laya has to agree that she felt tingles in her body. She just wanted to melt into his embrace but she knew it was just an act. But she couldn't understand why he was acting all good with her.
[Maybe… he needs your body.] her brain answered her. Somehow even Laya agreed to her point. If not for it why would he act so intimately despite his thoughts over divorce? She needs to talk to shakti again and make the arrangements closer. The day she reached Chennai she would leave him and this pathetic life.
She needs to find a lawyer to file a divorce.
"I need to cook, mop, and water the plants and clean last night's dishes," she said in a single go.
"There are maids for it," he said.
"Your mother fired all maids and servants after you left saying that I can multitask," Laya said as she tried to get up from her place but was pulled back by Rahul.
"Indeed you should get up but to get ready for our journey. We got a flight at 7 am. We still have three hours. Come and sleep with me now," he said before pulling her into his embrace.
"What if she beat me with your belt for not doing work?" she asked timidly.
"She won't," he said.
"I am scared still," she replied.
"Don't be. I am there," he replied.
There was a silence between them. Laya was trapped in his embrace again.
"You know what…" she started.
"Hmm…" he responded as he rested his chin on her head.
"Everytime when I get closer to someone they leave me on my own. From then… I don't dare to get closer to people. But… I broke my own rule with you. But still… you proved the same theory. People are meant to leave not to stay with others," she said.
Rahul loosened his grip on her. Taking that as a chance she slipped from him and slept on the corner of the bed. Rahul was stunned at her words. Indeed from her childhood… Someway or other people left her on her own. And even he…
He slept on his back as he placed his hands under his head. She was a lot harder than he imagined. A tear escaped from his eyes. She said he would leave her. He doesn't know why but he was getting a bad sign for some reason. He just wanted to tie her to him.
Getting up from his position, he walked out of the room. He sat on the fluffy couch in the pillow as he gazed at the still dark sky. He could see the slight orange rays peeking out from the sky. It won't take longer for the sun to rise. He doesn't know but the bad feeling in his chest was increasing. He couldn't hold it any longer, he walked inside the room and saw her sleeping peacefully. Looking at her his heart clenched in pain. He wondered what calamity would take place in their lives.
Standing under the shower head, he let the hot water run through his hair to his body. Under the hot water and the hot steam… he looked like a god of sex. Closing his eyes, he ran his hand through his wet locks of hair.
He remembered everything that happened from the time he returned.
He started making an imaginary check list in his brain.
His mother…. Nope. she wasn't in trouble anymore.
His family…. Nope. even they weren't in any trouble.
Her family…. Nope. They weren't a problem either.
Her uncle… maybe. He might be in trouble.
Himself…. Not at all.
Herself… maybe. The chances looked like eighty percent. Yesterday he saw her calling someone named Shakti.
Turning off the shower, he tied a towel around his waist and came out. She was still sleeping. Walking towards her dressing table and started searching for it.
He opened her phone and saw it had her finger locked. He slowly went near her and placed her thumb finger on it and unlocked it.
He opened her contacts list and saw the name. Shakti Sahadev Acharya. He scrolled through her contacts list and heaved a sigh when he didn't see many men's numbers. After that… he checked her whatsapp chat. He could see her chat history with Shakti Sahadev Acharya was cleared.
But Rahul was someone who wouldn't give up. He knew how to get back the chat. He uninstalled her whatsapp and then reinstalled it. After that he entered her number and clicked message backup. He got all the latest message history backup.
Tapping on the message history of Shakti Sahadev Acharya… he was shocked silly when he saw her messages.
So… she was planning to run away from him and from his family. What did he do? He scrolled up the chat and saw that she heard their decision where he said he would consider divorcing her.
Oh my god!
This wasn't good. He cleared the chat and put the phone where it was supposed to be.
