THE FOLLOWING DAY.

SHADE.

My phone rang while I wanted to play Daniela back into her cradle, I looked into the screen of my phone , it was an unknown number, I place Daniella into her cradle while the Nanny came to take over from me.

"Hello" I said and the next thing was my mother in law abusing me.

" You stupid girl, unfortunately girl, I have always know you are unfortunate and I know you will turn fortunate to unfortunate, don't make me be the  one , don't let me be the one to come over there to throw you out of that house.

Kunle's mom said a lot, tears dripped down my face , I didn't know my husband was already behind me.

He wrap his hand behind me from behind and my tears dripped on his hand, he turn me around and took the phone away from my ear, he place it in his ear to listen to it, he removed the phone from his ear and hangs the call for me.

He dry my tears and embrace me.

" You shouldn't have keep listening to that? My loss isn't your fault? Why would she be blaming you for that? He said.

" I know they will pressure you to throw me out because your party loose" I said.

" Baby,no one is going to throw you out of here and out of my life" he says.

" I am scared" I said softly.

" I am here" he replied.

JULIANA.

I and my Dad were so pissed that the party didn't win, I gave up what could have been my position in the life of Kunle so that he can win and I can take over, I have myself planned so well that I will be side by side with Kunle to become the next First Lady of this state but he couldn't win because of that girl.

" Dad , I think Kunle needs to be forced to divorce that girl if he still wants to be in our party" I said.

" I don't even think , he is the next person I am going to select to be the flag bearer of the party, he didn't win so what is the assurance that he is going to win for this party in another four years" my dad says.

" Dad, he would win, can't you see he has majority of the youth supporting him, he only lost by twenty votes which means we still have a better chance with him if he gets the ticket to become the flag bearer of this party, that girl send to have made him loose focus.

All he needs is to focus after all no one is talking about the scandal again, he should divorce that girl and get married to me, once we are married we will begin our campaign little by little as from now like I plan to have NGO's that will give to the widows and children and we can even have NGO's that will give to the retires, you know when you give the less privilege things like money , food they are always indebted little by little and we would promised some of them money if they can convince their people for us that we would offer them huge amount of money we rare the ones that know that when we get the power they will get nothing from us but firstly that girl should be divorced" I said.

" You have a point dear, because if we  appoint a new flag bearer he might not even perform well but Kunle has followers already" my Dad said.

" You need to see how majority still don't accept that the incumbent Governor wining is fair, they feel their votes were rigged which mean s we have a better chance with Kunle, we should work on making him divorce the girl at all cost or we can even help get rid of her ourselves" he says.

" Let's work on talking to him to divorce  that girl, we already made him powerful if anything happens suspiciously he would see other political parties that would want him to be their flag bearer because of him having majority in his sides and they could offer to give a proper investigation to his wife's death if we say we should kill that girl and our party might end up having problems even if we are going to get rid of her, it won't be this year, it won't be a suspicious thing, at least a year would have passed before we do whatever we want to do" my dad says.

Thinking about this my dad has a point, it's not like there isn't any other person who has gain the popularity of the people in this party but I like Kunle and I am jealous of all the love, affection and supports she gets from Kunle, he treats her like a queen, I want to be in that space, I do not care how long it will take me to have him, I don't care what risk I have to take to have him all that matters is that I must have him no matter what.

RACHEAL.

My father in law convoy drop me in our home, Neighbors came out to see who was drop by the Governors convoy, I love the way they all troop out to see me come out of the car because all those people always say so many crazy things about I and my mom that they will see outer end and I am glad they all see that I am in a higher level.

When I stepped out of the car, I use my hand to fling the hair that fall to my face, I walked glamorously into our house.

My mom and my siblings came to greet me, my Dad has gone to work.

I sat down and we began to discuss about the people that saw me that were surprised then we began to talk of Shade.

" I am glad your father in law won because it would have hurt me so bad if Kunle had won and she will now become the First Lady of the state and no one will ever recognize me again but for the fact that she won't be that First Lady, I am very happy" my mom says.

" Mommy, I am now higher than her there is no comparison betweeen us, I have class than her, no one will recognize her again for another five years and that is if she Kunle will ever win again" I said.

" Exactly what I have always wanted to sweep my sister and her children under my feet" my mom said.

" Mom, my marriage is going to be the talk of the town because it's a double celebration mom, my mother in law is even planning to add some other spice to my wedding" I said .

My sister looked into my eyes and I know she had something to say, she tries to open her mouth but shuts it again.

" Is there something you want to say? Desiree" I ask her.

"I know you are getting all you want in-fact, you are beginning to get popular but have you thought of the outcome of people who are always in an abusive relationship, it's not safe for someone to…….." my mom cuts in.

" Shut up your mouth! Can you just shut that stupid mouth of yours! What do you even know ? You better don't even think like your dad that has refuse to be rich like his friends that knows how they enrich themselves by stealing" my mom says.

" Mom you know the right thing, why not tell her the truth that marrying an abusive man isn't right? I know how many times I hear you always wanting to leave our dad whenever he beats you up, stop being greedy mom! She says and my mom stood up while she quickly runs out of the house.

" Mom! Mom!! Please don't chase after her, let her be" I said.

"Let her be ? I won't let her be! Can't you here her calling me greedy?! Am

I her mate? I am her mother for crying out loud! My mom says in anger and raising her voice.

"Mom she has a valid point" I said.

" Don't tell me you are beginning to think like her or wants to call of your wedding" she asks.

"Ofcourse no, I won't leave my marriage because I am enjoying the luxury, this life is nothing without money, I haven't die since he has been beating me and I like the respect I am getting and I don't have to spend my whole time in the kitchen which another thing that I enjoy about the whole thing" I said.

" Good, I like the fact that you are just like me, what about the money I asked you for ? My mom asked .

" Uhmm! Mommy, you like money, I haven't seen you using all this money that I have been giving you" I said .

"I am using it my dear, I use them to buy clothes but you see this money that I am asking from you is to buy expensive souvenir for my friends to show them that I am now in a higher level , that I am in law to the Governor of this state" I said.

" Okay" I put my bring out the money inside my handbag and give it to her.

" That is one hundred and fifty thousand Naira , so just get the souvenir" I said.

" Racheal may God bless you, in fact God has bless you , I have always know that you are a blessing to this family, I have always known that you are going to make me proud" she says.

" Mom, I have to go now , I have to go because I and my husband needs to meet with the wedding planner again today for some change of plans for our wedding" I said.

" Okay" mom says.

I stood up pick my handbag and walks to the convoy, the driver opens the car door for me and I entered and bid my mom bye.

As the car moves , I began to ponder on what my sisters say which makes all sense but I am not ready to leave the luxury life, as long as there is money I cannot die.

It's not like I am happy with Felix because he doesn't make me happy but Shade can't be enjoying luxuries and I shouldn't be enjoying luxuries, I can't let people mock me, those that I have stop being friends with, I can't let them mock me.

JESSICA.

I woke up feeling extra happy because of the date, I don't know why I feel connected to Nick like the connection is so strong, maybe he is that person that I have been waiting for, It's true that I and Simi are engaged but I do not feel connected to him, I feel like I am engaged to a stranger and I feel guilty lying to him that we have been together for longtime.

I quickly call my maid to come and help me get some dresses out of my wardrobe.

The date is still in the evening but I can't wait.

NICK.

I don't know why I just can't take my mind off Jessica, I never thought someday I will fall in love with a blind girl.

My parents has been disturbing me to  bring a wife home and something tells me she is the one.

But will my parents accept her because she is blind? I don't care what they think about her but wait am I talking about marriage when we haven't even have the chance to talk yet.

JESSICA'S MOM.

I woke very early in the morning thinking of my two sons, I need to meet with them and their father today, I have waited this long to have my real family back but not without this property because that is why I have been here for years to take care of her.

Many people commends me on how much I love Jessica like my biological child but they do not know that I do not love her , I just need to win everyone's love including her love to own the property.

I do not want to get rid of her when she is still living here, it might be suspicious but if she dies in her husband's house no one will accuse me and think I kill her.

I did all of this for my husband and kids.

I use to be a maid to Jessica's mom, then I and my husband has financial problems and she agreed to hire me as a maid then, one months after I started having affair with Jessica's dad, my husband caught me and I had to lie that I was doing it for us to raise some money and he came about the plan that I should kill Jessica's mom which I did, it was after I killed Jessica's mom that I realized all the money belongs to Jessica's mom and she can only have access to Twenty percent when she turns eighteen and the remaining eighty percent will be after her marriage or it get distributed to Charity organizations if she does before that age.

I had no choice than to start treating her as my child because of the care her father saw me giving to Jessica he decided to get married to me, I showed him love and care but I still visit my husband.

We have two sons already before taking up a job as a maid then.

When I realized she was sixteen, I killed her dad by suffocating him and I lied he died in his sleep which was lie.

After her father's death I began to show her extra care, I even sent her abroad for her studies and during her studies , I was lucky to meet Simi's mom who introduced me to buying shares in their company, I did that just to get closer to an influential family so that Jessica would think I really loved her and wanted the best for her that is that only reason I use her money to invest in Kunle's mom family business.

Only If Kunle mom knows that she is in my trap already she wouldn't want her son to marry Jessica at all cost.

I want her married at all cost so that I can get all this properties for I and my kids and my husband at all cost.

I am sick and tired of why we need to wait this long before picking a wedding date, I have been calling Kunle's mom since yesterday but she just wouldn't pick the call, I didn't ask her son to loose the election, I need her to pick up her call so that we can talk about Jessica's marriage, I have tried waiting this long and I am tired of waiting.
