A Nightmare

Cristy's mother has been behaving erratically for the last four days. She stared out of the window for a couple of days. The marks on her neck were something she hadn't given much thought to before. Two black dots on her neck made it stand out.

"I'm worried about you, Mom." Cristy's said.

"How does it feel to be 17?" Cristy's mom asked.

"It's okay. Mom, tell me what's going on?" Her mother was making her way toward the back door as she watched.

"Nothing. Let me provide you with a tiny gift."

Cristy's mom put her hand on the door handle. The door gently swung open in front of Cristy. She was aware that if the door would be opened, something bad would happen.

"Mom, what's going on? Please close the door."

Because it was midnight, her father had told them to stay indoors. It didn't matter what time of day it was; the city was never safe.

"It's impossible for anyone or anything to harm us here. You're going to notice something, look."

"No, mom!" Cristy said in a stern voice.

As the door flung open, she screamed. The dream came crashing down.

"Cristy, please wake up!" William said while he shaking Cristy's shoulders.

Cristy backed away from him and struggled to get up. Her parents were watching her from a distance.

"What is going on?" Cristy wanted to know.

"It was your voice that roared. You must have had a nightmare," William said.

"I don't remember anything," Cristy respond.

"Don't worry about it." William said and hugged her.

Cristy slipped out of William's arms. "I'm just going to the restroom," she explained.

William followed Cristy to the restroom.

"You don't have to worry about me. I am okay and in the past, I've never had a man in my bed."

"Yeah, I know," William said.

"How do you know?" Cristy enquired.

"To be honest, it's already too late to go out tonight. Just go inside the restroom. I'll be waiting for you here outside."

Cristy nodded as she made her way to the restroom. In the mirror, she wash some water on her face and took a look at herself. She had no idea what was going on in her awhile ago. While looking in the mirror, she inspected her neck. Two blood spots were seen in the mirror's image. While caressing her neck, Cristy looked down at her fingers, but there was nothing there. She checked her reflection again in the mirror but she saw that her neck was clean.

"I guess, I'm getting a little insane," Cristy said to herself.

She wiped her face with the towel before going outside the restroom.

"You shouldn't be here," Cristy said when she opened the door.

"You couldn't chase the dreams away without me," William asserted. Cristy tucked the quilt under her chin.

"I'm not going to attack you and have my horrible way with you," William said while smiling.

"That was funny. The stories I've heard about how ravenous you are have always intrigued me."

"Was it me or my inner wolf?

"It doesn't really matter."

"Cristy, I love making out. I'm an adult, not a teen."

Cristy mumbled, "You're a filthy pig," and turned away from him. William giggled as a result. "This is me."

"Then, I'm not interested in getting to know you at all."

William put a hand on her arm. She tensed, but he repeated it several times. When his touch lit a fire in her, she couldn't give in. No other man had the same influence on her as William. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply several times. William put his fingers around her waist. Cristy swung around on him.

"Do not touch me," she commanded.

"Cristy, I'm not touching your private parts. I hold you in my arms right now. Do you feel different now that I'm nearby?" He queried.

She did grow more at ease as she pondered his words. Her fear from the dream was no longer the primary thought in Cristy's thoughts.

"Say it. You feel different, right?"

"Yes, why is that?"

"Cristy, we're mated. I'll make you feel comfortable and protected. You won't be able to push me away no matter how much you loathe me."

She seized the moment as William kiss her lips while looking into his eyes. After observing for a bit, she remarked, "Does this work both ways?"

"Yes, it functions both ways."

Cristy massaged the arm that was lying on her belly. She began to investigate him as her curiosity had finally gotten the better of her.

"What's it like when you change?" she enquired. Cristy had never observed a wolf morph.

"The initial change is challenging. We are werewolves at birth, and while change is in our blood, it is not something we are accustomed to. Broken bones easily put back together again. Our skin change and turns into tiny hairs."

"How do you keep alive? Is it because of your blood?"

He laughed. "We manage to survive because we are werewolves by nature. We must make a turn. No blood is spilt, and after a few modifications, we get used to it. I am a part of my wolf. Change will be simpler to achieve the more we can accept the beast within of us."

"Do you experience any pain?" Cristy questioned.

"No. I admit I'm a beast. I wouldn't fight the feeling of relief that comes from letting him go because he is a part of me."

"Do you ever regret turning into werewolf?"

"No. I was destined to accomplish this from the start. I adore jogging outside in the woods and transforming."

Cristy queried, "What color is your wolf?"

"Black."

She reflected on the wolf she had earlier glimpsed from her bedroom window. She questioned, "Was that you earlier?"

"Yes and that's enough. That's all the inquiries I have for today." William gave her a temple kiss. "Sleep some more."

Cristy asked again, "Will you be here to scare the nightmares away?"

"Yes, I will, don't worry."

Cristy slid her eyes close. She experienced the greatest sleep of her life that night.
