Laughing Demon Comes

"Seriously, though. I want your eyes. You look like a good person, so I know you'll do the neighborly thing." The demon laughed as it tried to remove the limp remains of the undead doctor from it's leg. Much like when the leg of pants wont come off without a few kicks when undressing.

The demon adjusted his balance and soon stood. Standing at around 3 meters tall (Author's note: 10 feet for my fellow Americans that might not take so much to the metric system!) and long arms and legs, not unlike a certain, slender horror figure.

He reached behind himself, seemingly pulling a derby hat from the air. He continued to try to kick the rotting human flesh off of his polished shoes that would have been immaculate...if only the creature's claws hadn't torn through the front.

Sam laughed.

The tool of demons is generating more fear. The more more grotesque the summoning, the more fear is generated in the living victims. Their favorite past time is to use horror movies and books as inspiration to attack the human psyche. They were deviously intelligent. Especially the fallen angel classes.

Sam waited patiently. If he interrupted the process, even more demons would start to be summoned through the corpses at random. It's easier to just crush the lead demon summoned and wipe up the left overs before other summoning gates form.

"...so, I just noticed this, but you are not really giving me the reaction I was hoping for. Maybe I should have asked for your teeth? Testicles? Smart Device? I really don't get you youths today..."

The demon sighed as he inspected the loose, rotting flesh he was summoned from.

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, you'll be dead in 4 minutes." Samael smiled.

The demon frowned. This human was mocking him. A first in his long existence and was highly annoying to the demon. He obviously needed to gain back his position of fear or he wouldn't enjoy this kill.

"I guess talking is pointless. I'll let you experience despair with your body!"

The demon screamed out in a symphony of tortured souls he had devoured. The screams of the damned distorted the air around, shattering windows of near-by vehicles and buildings. Even before the shock-wave arrived at Samael, the demon vanished from his original position.

Sam's smile turned serious. His honed senses and inhuman cognitive processing allowed him to spot the time when the demon used the distorted air to cover his entrance under the street. In the fraction of a second between the demon's "disappearance" and Samael's decision, his leg already pulled up to his chest.

With a short "KYAP", Sam smashed the road beneath his feet as his right foot smashed down. An area 20 meters in circumference from himself collapsed first, then exploded out. A shocked demon became exposed in front of Sam.

"Heh." Sam's eyes had a glint as he smiled. The demon felt a chill run up his spine as all his instincts screamed out "DANGER!".

Samael used the momentum of the stomp to squat into a forward position. With a snort, he launched himself forward.

The demon, panicked, threw several dozen punches that were invisible to normal, human eye. Each one, percisely struck the dense road debris. Each piece fired off at the speed and power of a artillery shell. Due to the demon's panic, these pieces were not accurate but dangerous nonetheless.

Samael didn't slow as he struck out his hand. The expected explosion of debris did not errupt as expected, though. With expert center-mass manipulation, he deflected incoming stones centimeters off course leading them to veer off into near-by buildings. His hands and wrist would slightly turn to accurately strike various parts of the incoming projectiles, looking much like Tai-Chi's cloud hands.

The demon expected to buy himself at least a few moments after the volley, but unfortunately the reality was that Samael had unexpectedly sped up and had tucked himself into a ball.

The demon flinched for just a moment, in confusion.

A moment that was fatal in against an expert, as demonstrated when Sam's body opened back up...though now feet first.

The demon's face contorted as Samael's feet smashed into the side of his head from the high-speed drop-kick. The demon fired off like a puppet with it's strings cut, but soon jerked back in the direction of Sam as he took hold of the slender demon's long arms and pulled.

The derby the demon wore fell forward, covering his face. Sam seamlessly used the pulling momentum to rotate, his back foot tucking in as the demon's face approached. With a hard "KYAP!", he fired off the leg into a spinning back kick, tearing through the hat/bull's eye and crushing the demon's face into a unrecognizable mush as he was launched yet again off into a near-by vehicle.

Though, vehicles wouldn't normally explode when even objects fly into them with high velocities...the incendiary grenade Sam tucked into the demon's sleeves after the arm tug ignited a fiery explosion that also decimated the crowd of undead that had no moved since the demon summoning. Samael's years of demon combat taught him destroying the brain or heart would not be enough to slay even low-level demons. One must destroy both at the same time or burn the body completely.

His body reacted instinctively at this point and had lead to his position as the top in the Heaven's Mandate Project.

Sam kicked off the left-over demon brain matter that was on his shoe as he eyed the space-port. He hoped there would be less of these kind of events until he at least made it to Earth due to wanting to conserve his fighting resources. Slaying demons with only martial arts was tedious at best and would require more stamina burn to defeat higher-ranking demons below SATAN class.

"Well, no use thinking too much." He lifted his backpack and storage case, keeping his senses on high alert for more undead as he made his way forward through the flaming remains of his battle with the laughing demon.

*In a pocket dimension in between worlds*

"What do you mean we lost contact with Daemon? There shouldn't be anyone left on Mars with the fighting ability to take out even a lesser demon like him. You sure he's not just ignoring us to play around with human children again?"

The massive demon was in charge of communication between summoned demons in the various realms they occupied. His thousands of tentacles cycled through various feeds projected upon the stretched flesh of millions of corpses of various sentient races, including humans.

"Dunno boss. He's an asshole, for sure, but even he would give at least a half-assed report to get us off his back."

The massive demon sighed as he continued to cycle through feeds until he found a screen reflecting the red atmosphere of Mars in the realm that Daemon was summoned.

"THIS..." He was shocked at what he saw. A human expertly tearing apart a lesser demon with no trouble. Every move was captured by his six-hundred and sixty six eyes, even the lightning quick slight-of-hand that led to the grenade making it into the laughing demon's coat.

"...this person has to be at an archangel-class at least. Why would he still be in this realm after Paradise evacuated their favorite slaves??"

The demon was puzzled. Though there were many factions in the universe that could stand toe-to-toe with demons, many relied heavily on technology to do so. Mech suits, sentient robot security, advanced weaponry, and ships were the norm for frail humans. Only those chosen by "Heaven" could fight demons to a standstill with physical strength and martial techniques.

"Alert Lazarus. Tell him to head to the coordinates that Daemon was last alive. Tell him to bring me that human. I want to know if there are more of him left on Mars and what his mission is."

The demon bowed and started to fade into the shadows.

"Yes, Asmodeus."

The SATAN level demon, Asmodeus, continued to sort through his feeds as he dismissed his worries.

Thank you for reading the second chapter!

I hope I painted fair enough details to keep the battle vivid in your imaginations.

The protag is a master of various martial arts, but favors TaeKwonDo, Karate, Taijiquan(Tai Chi), and a heavily modified form of Aikido.

So there will be plenty of fighting!

Eventually technology will come into play and possibly mech/robot related battles. Stay tuned!
