Chapter 46

The angels were back - those meddling do-gooders supposedly working for his as yet un-met uncle, God. A murderous rage came over Chris. But it shouldn't be mistaken for evil just because these were God's minions.

Most people imagined angels as ethereal beings, innately good and kind with big, fluffy wings, white robes, and halos.

The only thing they got right was the huge, fluffy wings. Like super huge. Seriously, how they managed to get through a door was beyond him. Heaven must have some huge-ass fucking doorways.

As to their garb, it varied in hue, from white to a grayish silver. The fabric appeared slick and malleable, the weave so fine as to be unnoticeable. Yet it wasn't leather even if it had some of the same attributes. Chris knew from previous encounters with them that fluid just sluiced right off. Wouldn't want blood marring their appearance. Because here was the thing the books also didn't mention - when the angels appeared, violence soon followed.
