Chapter 9- A mysterious child's task

"If it's YOU, mister! I know you can handle it, so please help me! You're special I can see it clearly!"

Her words got Riyoko confused which made him begin to look around to see if this is some sort of trick.

"This isn't a trick mister!" the child shouted, leaving him in shock once again.

"I… my mother told me to never trick people, that's why. Please, I'm asking you this because I'm weak! If I go back there I just might die regardless… I'm desperate!"

Riyoko stared deep into the determined child's eye, "this kid… she's saying some pretty serious and crazy things for her age… but for some reason, I can't help but want to help her," he thought.

Seeing a vivid reflection of his past self on the child, he quickly stood up, "I see… it's her strong-willed eyes that are getting to me. it hurts quite a bit, to be honest,"

"Ok," he said, making the child's tears stop and slightly began shifting to a brighter expression.

Riyoko took a deep breath, "I don't know what you see in me to think that I can do what it is you're asking, but I guess I'll try my best,"

"As I said, I have mystic eyes! I can see that you're special so there's no use hiding it!"

"what's with this kid?" He thought, "she's pretty persistent about me being special. Not only that, but now she's accusing me of hiding it?"

He shook his head, "anyway, how about you wait here, ok? If a woman who seemed to be trying to find me comes, tell her where I am,"

The child nodded energetically, "Yes! So please help me!"

"I will, I will… got any other details for me? Like a specific place where it might be?"

"My house is colored red and white! Just look around the road or something and you'll find it!"

"what is it that you want me to find?"

"It's a watch!"

"…. And?"

"that's all you have to know,"

Riyoko lightly scratched his head in confusion, "umm, what?"

"Don't worry! It's a special watch, it will take your attention the moment you see it somewhere in your eye!"

As Riyoko began to look a little doubtful, the child became worried.

"Ah!" suddenly, the child took out a small spatial sack from her pocket and pulled out a huge brown sack, "here!" she said, giving Riyoko the sack that she seemed to be struggling to lift.

Feeling curious, Riyoko took and peeked into the bag, "What the!?"

The bag was filled with high-valued gold coins, recalling the currency and the amount of high-valued coins they spent making rounds in the city, Riyoko conclude that it was a whole load of money.

"U… Umm…?"

"And there's a lot more where that came from!" the child said proudly.

"This kid!!?" he shouted in his mind.

"You see… I could probably be of huge help to you once I grow up strong. However, that might come in a long time from now, so the best I can offer right now is money!"

"This child… she keeps shocking me the longer we talk…" he thought, "jeez… If I'm correct, with the amount of money I'm holding right now, I could probably buy a car or maybe a house in my world,"

"How valuable is this watch that you want me to find?" He asked.

The child began to show signs of worry, "I…" her hands slightly shivered.

"Ah! Don't worry I'm not trying to ransom you or…"

"I… I don't know, but I could offer you a million gold!" she said with determination and a slight hint of desperation in her expression.

"A… A million!? Wait, a child couldn't possibly give me that much… yet again she has this sack of gold…"

"T… that's all I can offer…" she said with shivering hands and teary eyes, "I was told not to spend anything over that much so… that's all I can offer!"

"Her innocence is basically proof already!!" he thought.

"Pl… please, help…"

As the child seemed like she was about to cry again, Riyoko quickly kneeled in front of her.

"No, no, no!" Riyoko placed the bag of money on the ground as he tries to console the child.

Seeing Riyoko drop the sack of money on the ground, the child cried out, "Pweease! I'm bewggwing yowwu!"

"No, it's not like that!" Riyoko said in a slightly panicked tone, "I'll help you, I promise, it's just that I'm doing this out of my free will. I'll help because I want to…"

The child stopped her tears, "Is this the trope where the guy pretends he doesn't want anything in return so that when he helps he gets a lot more than what was offered?"

"This kid sure is something… I'm almost out of words for this…" he thought.

Riyoko stood up, "anyway, I just have to find your watch, right?"

"I'll just go ahead and try to get this over with," he thought as he was about to be on his way.

"Wait! What is your name? your full name,"

"Hm? Riyoko… Riyoko Heiko,"

"Come closer," the child said, asking for Riyoko's head with her hand.

Riyoko felt confused and just kneeled again in front of the child.

The child's eyes and hands began to glow bright blue as she places her tiny palms on Riyoko's forehead. She began letting out words he couldn't understand, it was as if she was chanting a spell in an unknown language.

"There! That should do it!" the child cheered.

"What was that?"

"Something that would surely be of help!" she smiled, "now please get my mom's watch, Mr. Riyoko!"

Riyoko stood up with a faint smile, "sure,"

As he turned around, he was shocked to see a tall white-haired woman standing over by the entrance of the park with her faint glowing golden eyes.

"Interesting…" the woman said then walked past the park entrance where they can't see her because of the trees.

"I'll be back as soon as I can," Riyoko said as he ran to the road outside the entrance, curious about the woman.

"Umm, miss…."

Reaching the long straight road with no turns where the woman supposably went, Riyoko felt shocked upon not seeing the woman.

"Huh…?"
