Step by step

Two weeks have passed after that bout with Julian and pacifying the princess' anger. Samael finally got back to focusing on his cultivation, or rather, where he's gonna go from here on out. But it's not like he's leaving, he just wanted to map out his path and plan ahead.

"Hu..." Sitting outside, Samael had just finished his morning cultivation session and he couldn't refine his body any further for the moment but had stabilized his cultivation.

"You done?" He then heard the Princess's voice from behind him.

"Mn." Samael nodded, the princess then threw a towel at him as she too was sweating from her morning practice.

Wiping his sweat, Samael got a good look at the princess. She was wearing a sleeveless training attire and her sweat made the cloth stick to her body, highlighting her stunning figure. Her hair was tied to a ponytail and sweat dripped down from her neck and to her collarbone, which was very alluring.

"Plump breast and butt, along with that slender waist. Such allure...it borders on being seductive even. It was no wonder that bastard Julian fell in love." Samael thought to himself and chuckled before continuing to wipe his sweat off.

Although he took a good look at the princess, he was not in love with her. Even with her charms, she wasn't able to move his heart. Well for the most part Samael actually sees her as a big-sister figure.

"It's only 2 more weeks before the Academy starts recruiting again. How confident are you?" After they rested for a while, Princess Lina asked.

"I'm not sure yet but I'm confident of breaking through at 4-star Qi-Gathering realm before the recruitment day." Samael got serious.

"4-star..." Princess Lina was actually worried about him but before she could say anything a guard approached her and reported that the king would like to see her. "I'll leave you to your training for now, Father's calling me."

Samael nodded and watched as the Princess walk away with the guard, he breathed in relief. He then stretched a bit before walking back to the training area he asked the princess to build in a corner of the courtyard. He had to carve up some wooden targets so he can practice. These wooden targets were such a good practice dummy that the princess couldn't help herself and would often practice with him.

Because of this, Samael wasn't able to practice at his own pace as when he practice, he would either practice with a fist or he would be honing his control over his black lightning and Ice elements. He's not trying to hide it from the princess but he just felt that it would be a pain in the ass if she started asking about it once she found out. After all, almost all of the arts and training methods that Samael practices are from his clan, which was from a higher leveled realm.

So he only got to practice as much as he wanted once the princess was gone. Samael wasn't afraid that he was being spied on as he hasn't done anything to warrant the attention of others yet.

From the start of his practice up until today, Samael had a problem.

"Every martial artist, whether they be weak or strong has a weapon of their own choosing. A weapon that is suitable for them. But I still haven't found or decided on one yet." He said. Samael has contemplated this for almost a week now.

I have to pick a weapon that is compatible with my elements and this will also point me to my own battle style.

"My lightning element is highly offensive and is very compatible with any weapon. Lightning flows as much as water does so whether it be a Sword, dagger, or hammer. They'd be compatible with my lightning, but...if one takes a good look at history. Most of the strongest lightning elemental legends used the...Spear!"

The Sword may be the most popular and easiest weapon of choice, it had the slashing capability and decent piercing ability. With both of the desired strong points of a weapon, not many could compare to the sword. Many sword legends had rose and shook the high heavens, sword in hand there were not many that could stand in their way.

And then there was the spear...It was overbearing and can put out more power than the sword due to its length. It had the superior piercing capability and scary slashing ability when swung with great strength. But because it was not easy to train it to a high degree not many choose to wield such a weapon.

Samael had read a lot of powerful spear techniques from his clan so he wouldn't have much trouble in training it. He just needed time to resolve himself to training the weapon. He waved his hand and a wooden spear appeared, he grasped the spear and closed his eyes. Trying to feel his connection with the weapon.

He wanted to see if he had a feel for spear weapons and he smiled as he felt a jolt coursed through his body and his body hair stood up. Samael felt an innate connection with the weapon and began to swing it around. After playing with the spear, Samael finally understood why not many choose the weapon.

The frontal attacks were easy to get used to, you just have to wield it with two hands and the piercing movement was easy to do. But it was advanced moves that were hard to do. The twirling of the spear in one's hand was hard and keeping track of the weapon so it doesn't hit you was hard due to its length. Another thing to get used to is the range and versatility of the weapon

But this didn't discourage Samael, he loved challenges especially if they can help him move towards his goal.

He searched his memory for the most appropriate spear that complements his lightning element and what he found was the "Orion's, Luminous Spear". The spear art had 3 killing moves aside from the basic moves. These were the...

Dusk...

Rainfall...

Daybreak...

Once Samael firmly remembered the Spear art he practiced one of the sets of spear movements. His movement was very crude and he warily smiled at himself. "Well, that was embarrassing."

"Hmm...Ice element is also pretty compatible with the spear. I wonder if there are some suitable ice elemental spear arts that are on par with 'Orion's Luminous Spear'?"

Samael once again scoured his memory and he frowned, there were some Ice elemental spear arts but they were not on par with Orion's Luminous spear. He could still practice them if he wanted to but if he aims to one day fuse his Lightning and Ice, it'd be better if the two arts were on the same level. If not, it may cause some flaws to appear and that would be detrimental for Samael.

Though there were no spear arts, he did find some offensive arts that required no specific weapon to cultivate. Its name was the "Ice Phoenix's Mantra", it was both an offensive art and a supportive art at the same time but when trained to the extreme it becomes a domain art too.

Its offensive capability lies in its power to freeze anything the user touches and once the user's insight on the Ice element reaches a very high level, the user could very well freeze anything instantaneously. One could also form ice shards from the atmosphere which could double as an offensive and supportive ranged attack.

Aside from being able to be used without a specific weapon, just the offensive and supportive capability of the technique is very beneficial for him.

Now that he had chosen two supreme combat art, we could somehow see how powerful he will be in the future.

Samael stretched his arms and finally began to practice his spear according to the move set of "Orion's Luminous Spear". Right after executing the move set, he takes his time to analyze the mistakes in his movement and would correct them one by one in the succeeding tries.

Like this, the sounds of his wooden spear striking the wooden target and his pants could be heard from the courtyard.

I just added a Book cover, although it's just a temporary one I hope everyone is happy with it.
