Age and Talent (2/2)

"The first test is quite easy, here everybody will easily pass." This sentence causes the entire venue to shake.

"Huh?" most of the participants couldn't believe it, they had prepared themselves for a series of rigorous tests but who would've thought that the first test would be so easy that everybody would get a pass?

"We would only test your age and talent, and then record them. Remember though, that there will be a deliberation at the end of the tests and your result here in the first test will affect the overall result of whether we will accept you into the academy or not."

Once the examiner was done speaking, a certain somebody suddenly asked.

"You said our talents would be tested and recorded, how are you going to do that?"

When this voice sounded out, everybody looked over and saw that it was that Arrogant tribal guy earlier. They had their disapproval of him being here but his question was what most of them wanted to ask.

"About that, your talents would be measured by this crystal which functions almost the same way as the elemental crystal that is used to test your elemental affinity. The only difference is that this crystal shows not your elemental affinity but the extent of your talent." Said the examiner

"Then how do we know if our talent is good or not?" Another's voice echoed but this time it was someone that Samael didn't know.

"When you place your hand on top of the crystal it will glow and show this." The examiner slowly said as he placed his hands on the crystal.

A light then glowed from within the crystal, at first it was just a glowing white light but then it changed in color and became Green colored.

When Samael saw this, he said to himself "I knew it. I wasn't sure at first but after seeing this, I am. This talent testing crystal is based on the Heavenly Eye Crystal used in the Divine realms."

The original could see the nature of the person's physique and accurately judge the person's talent but what was in front of him was a crude copy of the real thing and can only judge the person's talent using ranks.

While Samael was still thinking to himself, the examiner continued speaking.

"As you can see the color changed to green. There are eight colors that can show up when testing which are Red, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Violet, Black, and Gold but in the long history of the empire, even in the earliest record of the crystal's usage only two people ever had the result of having black colored talent."

Once the examiner finished speaking, people started talking and asked themselves the question. "If so, then what kind of person would have a Gold color talent?"

"They're the kind of monsters that reside in the Divine realm," Samael said to himself which of course included himself.

But he wasn't worried that the crystal would display the mythical Gold color. If what he was thinking is right, those two persons who got the black color result had the blood of someone from the Divine Realm which the crystal detected and mistook the powerful bloodline to be their talent.

Even if it's not, Samael had studied the original Heavenly Eye crystal and the following copies of it that came out. This also included the ways it could be manipulated. This means he can cheat his way in and lower the result, after all, he came from the Divine realm and had a more dense and pure bloodline so his result would definitely be Gold if he didn't cheat.

At most he planned to have his result be Violet.

"Alright, enough Chit-chat, form eight lines and we will begin testing immediately." With that, they brought out seven more Talent testing crystals.

Then the participants each formed a line and it didn't take too long for the results to come out.

One participant jumped in joy "Alright I got Green! That should be good."

"I got Blue! Yeah!"

"I got green too!"

"Uhh, I only got orange?

There were a lot of participants that jumped for joy when their results came out and a lot who got disappointed when theirs came out.

"Shit, only yellow? Is this thing broken?"

"How the hell is my talent worst than this commoner?"

And of course, there were those who were those of noble background who couldn't accept the result.

"Relax, didn't I tell you all before that you would all get to pass? If you're dissatisfied with the result of the first test then do better on the other tests."

Wow, the examiner really knows how to fan the flames but it's too weak. It wouldn't be fun at this rate.

Samael laughed to himself, he waited in line, Stella was right in front of him. The two decided to stick with one another for now.

Samael saw the tanned youth, Dominic goes upstage.

"Blue!" The official assigned for their crystal announced.

"it was only natural." Dominic Harrumphed. He then looked around and saw Samael, he smiled and shouted.

"You see that?! This is only one of the reasons why you shouldn't have opposed me, you are merely a servant of the princess."

Samael had one of his fingers in his ears, picking it, and then he said in a laid-back manner.

"Yeah, yeah, are you done? Then get off the stage!"

"Humph, fine. I'll let you be arrogant for now." Dominic sneered before walking off but not before lustfully eying Stella.

The test continued for a while and Samael was getting closer and closer. It was then that he saw Julius Clyde's result.

"Violet!" the official announced.

"Ho…that kid is quite talented." Samael nodded. It wasn't much of a surprise to him, after all, his older brother Julian was pretty talented himself. It wouldn't be weird for the little brother to be talented as well.

Julius saw Samael's approving action and his face contorted in disgust, which Samael saw and didn't think much of it, simply shrugging his shoulders.

Then on the other platforms, he saw the seductive woman who looked at him with interest earlier and saw her result which was Blue. It wasn't strange, she was clearly from a distinguished noble family which was different from an ordinary noble family.

The distinguished noble families got to where they are due to their strength and intelligence. They probably married some influential and talented individuals which resulted in talented heirs and those heirs then found talented partners and their children did the same.

The result is a powerful family with a stable foundation and is a force to reckon with.

After seeing the seductive woman's result, Samael saw the result of the two women who the people were talking about earlier.

"I think they called these ladies to be two of the most beautiful women in the entire empire. They are certainly deserving of such a title but comparing them to Sister Lina, I guess they are only behind her in terms of mature temperament." Samael silently compared the two to Princess Lina.

Once the results were out, Samael was rather surprised. These two had violet-colored talent as well. As of now, Samael has seen 5 people with violet-colored talent, three of which he knew. Which were Julius and now these two.

Normally, the rivalry between two people would result in them having different strengths as well as weaknesses. One would have a lower talent level but be very hardworking or perhaps one would be lazy but have the aid of his rich family.

Moments later, it was Samael's turn to come on stage.

Many people were interested in his results. They have not forgotten that this person came together with the famous Princess Lina, and scion of the Clyde family. Others were interested in whether such a person was worthy of standing beside two famous characters.

Samael stood in front of the Crystal and was circulating this energy in a specific manner, in accordance with his memories. This was the way to manipulate the results of any copy of the Heavenly Eye crystal.

"What are you waiting for?! Are you scared of seeing your result? That you are just trash?! Come on, now!" Suddenly a hateful voice echoed, taunting Samael.

Samael looked over and saw the tanned youth staring at him with a smug smile. He felt irritated and wanted to come over there and beat the living shit out of the annoying bastard.

Soon, the people below started gossiping and faintly he could hear their opinions about how he was not fit to be the Princess's friend. With his sharp senses, he could even hear some hateful and envious people spreading false rumors about him having an improper relationship with the princess, despite her already having a fiancee.

Samael was seriously pissed and even thought of abandoning his plan of cheating and just showing these clowns how foolish they were but he pulled himself back and told himself that that would not be smart.

But he also had to prove them wrong. So he turned and sent a smirk toward Dominic and said.

"You wanted to see my results well here you go!"

The light glowed and soon revealed the result everybody has been wanting to see.

"Impossible!"

"How can it be?!"

"How! How can it be Black?!" It was then that the people below went nuts.
