Chapter-8: Returning to the village

Ash's heart was full of sorrow when he saw this man die.

At this time, elder yoel came from behind and saw him with a sad expression.

"Don't be too sad. This is a World where countless people die every day. If you don't want someone close to you die, you have to get stronger and stronger untill no one can harm you anymore." He consoled him in a low voice.

"Mn." Ash nodded and stood up, there was a sharp glint of red in his blue eyes for a second, like there was something awakening inside of him. But no one noticed this peculiar thing.

"Here, take this magical beast core. When you reach the 10th step of body transformation, you can use the rich spiritual energy in it to break through to the Qi absorption realm." Elder handed him the magical beast core. It was a shining, orange coloured beast core. It contains all the cultivation of that beast.

"But everyone killed the beast together, if i get greedy and take the core alone, won't it be unfair to them."

"Hahahaha. You dont have to worry about that. They all wanted you to have this beast core and rise your cultivation. They are already so old. So, what can they even achieve by getting stronger. But you are different, you are still young, so you should use this chance to get stronger."

"You have to grasp every single opportunity front of you and make full use of that opportunity. "

Seeing Ash was still hesitating, elder shoved the beast core in his hands and said," Take it or throw it away, you can do whatever you want with this." Hearing this, he could only accept the core reluctantly.

After they did some light treatment, they brought their colleague's corpses with them and returned to the post.

In this fierce battle, there were 2 casualties, 4 people were seriously injured and everyone else were injured to some degrees.

After returning to the post, they applied herbs and medication to treat their wounds. After 3 days of resting and treatment, they finally recovered a bit so that, they can go back to the village.

After a whole day of relentless walking, they finally arrived at the village.

The villagers were shocked when they saw how everyone was injured. And they also saw the party was carrying two peoples' corpses with them.

All the villagers quickly gathered around them to know how did this happened.

Bevyn also arrived with them and asked," Father, what happened? How did you got so injured and how did they die with you by their side?"

"Sigh, it's a long story. First take them and bury them in the village graveyard. They fought bravely and died fighting a magical beast."

The village head quickly explained to everyone about their fight with a mid rank-1 magical beast.

Bevyn and villagers were shocked when they heard what elder yoel said.

"Thank the heavens, it was already severely injured. If not, then we would have all died." Elder said with a sigh.

Bevyn noticed that Ash was injured on his shoulders and asked him anxiously, " Son, are you okay?"

"Father, you don't have to worry. It was not a serious injury. After some rest, i can fully recover."

"How unfortunate. It was your first hunting section and there was a magical beast attack. If something had happened to you, how could i have faced your mother." He said with relief.

"Father, you take care of this matter. I have something else to do. See you later." After saying this Ash parted from the group and went towards a specific house in the village.

"Wait. Where are you going? Come back and take some rest so you can recover faster." Bevyn shouted at the running Ash.

"Let him go. He has to finish some business there." Elder yoel said to his son.

When Ashmus reached at the house he wanted to go to, he saw a small, wooden house in front of him. It looked like the house was abot to fall from it's worn down condition.

When he opened the door to the house, it made a crackling noise.

He saw that inside of the house, a small 6 year old small girl was sleeping on a wooden bed. She had short black hair and a cute face. Anyone who sees her, they will want to cuddle her.

When the door opened with a crackle. The small child woke up from it's sleep. She rubbed her eyes and looked at the one standing at the entrance of the house.

She was confused for a bit after seeing him.

Suddenly, she remembered something and said with a loud voice," Ahh.... Aren't you big brother Ashmus. What are you doing in my house?"

"You know me, little girl?" Ash was surprised for a bit when he heard her words. He went towards her and bent down to the side of the bed and asked in a soft voice.

"Yes, i know big brother. My father always tells me about you. He says, big brother is the most talented person in our village." She said in a clumsy voice.

"Is that so? Then, tell big brother what your name is, little girl?"

"My name is Luna."

"Then Luna, do you want to come with big brother and live with me?" He asked while rubbing her head.

"Really, can i really live with big brother?" She said excitedly.

"Mn. You can come and stay with me. We can always play together. "

"That's great. I wanted to go but my father said to wait for him to come back from the mountains." She said while looking down.

"Luna, your father went to bring your mother back home. So it will take long time before he comes back."

"Did father really went to meet with mother?"

"Yes. So untill he comes back, you can live with me. And when he comes back with your mother, they can also live with us." Ash said with a smile.

"Yay, i can now play with big brother Ashmus." She jumped at him and hugged his neck in happiness.

"Then let's go to my home." Ash rubbed the back of her head for a bit, then took her in his arms and went to his home.

When he reached the house, he saw Eira was standing guard at the entrance waiting for somone.

When she saw him coming home, she shouted," Mother, quickly come. big brother has returned." Hearing her voice, Nabia hurriedly came out of the house.

When Nabia came outside, She and Eira ran towards Ash and Luna, wanting to welcome him. But when they got near, they saw that, he had a large wound on his left shoulder. They both got worried and asked anxiously.

"Son, what happened at the mountains? Why are you injured so much?"

"Big brother, how did you get injured so badly with grandfather being on your side?

"Did you get lost on the mountains and were attacked by multiple ferocious beasts."

"Tell us quickly, what happened there?"

They both started bombarding him with a series of questions without giving him a chance to answer.

Ash felt troubled from the questions of this mother and daughter.

He rubbed his head and said to them," Mother, Eira... Both of you calm down first. I will tell you everything that happened. But first, let me introduce this little girl to you, She is Luna. Starting from now she will live with us. No objection. Okay?"

"Okay." The mother and daughter were stunned and nodded unconsciously.

"Good, now let us go inside. I will explain everything to you." After saying this, he went inside the house with Luna.
