Chapter-7: Killing a Rank-1 magical beast

There are around 15 people, surrounded by beast corpses.

They were looking around with alert and tensed looks on their faces, clearly trying to find the culprit of this whole situation.

Suddenly, they heard a sound of growling of a beast from beyond the trees and mist. They all slowly turned their heads to the source of the sound.

They all saw a tiger type beast, with sharp fangs and nails covered in blood. The hight of the beast was as tall as a 16 year old man. The beast was snarling at them with it's mouth open and blood was flowing from it.

There were various injuries all over it's body.

The people got a chill in their spine when they saw the beast. Some stepped back because the natural reaction of their bodies.

Elder yoel quickly snapped out of his fearful expression and said to his colleagues in a low voice," we cannot run away now. If we don't kill it or chase it back to the mountains, then it sure will head towards the village and kill all your family members. If you don't want your families to die, then you have to fight with everything you have."

When they heard elder yoel's words, they got rid of their horror and a determined expression appeared on their faces. They were resolved to kill the beast here or be killed by the beast.

The people got into their fighting position and advanced towards the beast slowly.

"Get ready to fight. Even though it is a mid rank-1 beast, it is already severely injured. Looks like it got injured and was chased down the mountain by a stronger beast than it. That's why it killed so many lower level beasts to vent its frustration and anger." Elder yoel explained.

Everyone calmed down a little when they heard the elder's words.

The beast was slowly heading towards them. If it was not injured, then it would have already attacked them as soon as it saw them.

Magical beasts, without intelligence like them don't hold back anything when they attack their opponent. Even if the opponent is a lower level beast.

As the strongest, elder yoel went ahead of the group to directly confront the beast. The others also moved around the beast to catch it off-guard and land a attack on him.

When the beast and elder yoel were 20 meters apart, they rushed towards each other at the same time. The beast roared and jumped with it's two sharp legs pointed at him.

Seeing this, elder avoided it's legs and got down to it's stomach and punched with all his strength. After punching it, elder quickly moved away, so that he won't get injured by the beasts' retaliation.

The beast coughed out some blood. Because it was injured heavily, it's speed has been reduced atleast 20%. So, elder could easily avoid it's attack.

Knowing that it cannot catch up elder yoel, it turned towards the other people and rushed towards them.

"Hurry, get out of it's way." Elder shouted loudly trying to get the attention of the beast.

But the beast didn't respond to his shouts and dashed towards two unfortunate people. Seeing that the beast is heading towards them, two of them turned towards different directions and ran.

Too bad, their speed could not compare to the beast, before they could run away, the beast arrived by their side.

The beast attacked one person with it's leg, sending him fly with a bloodied back and bit down the other with it's sharp fangs and tore away his head, killing it on the spot.

The person who was sent flying landed far away, without moving. It was unknown, if he was dead or alive.

The remaining villagers go angry when they saw their colleagues getting killed. They took out their stone swords and rushed towards the beast to attack him.

Elder yoel and Ash also attacked from different directions. The beast's years of battle experience kicked in and it moved to block the elder yoel's attack. If it didn't block that then it will surely die from that strike.

By blocking the elder's attack, it left it's body vulnerable to other people's attack. More than 10 swords perished it's already injured body.

Two people attacked it's hind legs to make it stop moving around too much. And other people stabbed the weak points like the stomach and neck.

Knowing that it will die soon, it struggled fiercely. The people were all thrown off from the beast.

It turned around and pounced on the person closest to it. Since it was going to die, it will drag someone with him to death.

Coincidentally, the one it pounced on was Ashmus. It pinned him down to the ground and bit down on his left shoulder wanting to tear it off. But because it was dying, it didn't have much strength left and couldn't pull out his mouth.

"Ahhhh..." Ashmus screamed in extreme pain when the beast bit down on his shoulder.

Elder yoel panicked when he heard his scream. He quickly rushed towards to beast to kill if off.

But before he could do it, Ashmus quickly got used to the pain, took out his knife and stabbed it into the beast's neck.

When the knife was stabbed into it's neck, the beast slowly ceased all movement and died.

"Son, are you okay?" Elder yoel and other villagers quickly arrived by its side and elder asked in a concerned voice.

"Ugh.... Grandpa... I'm fine. But the beast's teeth are struck in my shoulder and it hurts so much." Ash cried out in pain and said slowly.

"Phew... Wait here. I will take out the fangs from your flesh quickly." Elder was relieved to hear his voice and wiped the sweat off his head.

He got down to remove the jaws of the beast from Ash's shoulder. He was screaming throughout the whole process clearly in a world of pain. This is the first time he was injured to this degree.

If the beast had exerted a bit more force, it would have torn off his entire shoulder. Fortunately, he reacted quickly and killed off the beast or he would have been disabled for life.

After taking out the fangs, the elder wrapped his shoulder in a cloth to hold the bleeding and head to the post to treat the wounds.

" Take the injured with you and get back to the post and those who died, take their corpses to the village to bury them in honor."

" We have to quickly get out of here. Other beasts will arrive soon by the intense smell of Blood." Elder instructed the villagers to get back to the post before other beasts arrive.

When the villagers were doing light medication to their wounds, Ash went to the corpse of the two deceased to pay his respect to their bravery.

When he got there, he saw that one of them is still breathing and had not died. He quickly got to his side to check him.

"Uncle, please hold on. I will try to save you." He said in a hurried voice.

The man opened his eyes in difficulty when he heard Ash's voice.

"Huff.... Huff.... You don't have to.... to trouble yourself. I know..... I am going to die so don't waste your efforts." He said in a very low voice.

"Sigh.... Uncle, is there anything i can do for you." Ash sighed in sorrow when he saw that the man cannot be saved.

"Please take care of my daughter. She is only 6 years old and i was her only family... Now that I'm going to die, she will feel lonely and it will be very difficult for her live on. I want you to take care of her as my death wish. If you can do that, i can die in peace." The man said.

He knew that he won't be able to see his daughter one last time, he felt extremely sad.

"Uncle, i promise you i will take care of her like my little sister."

"Then i can rest in peace." When the last words came out of his mouth, he closed his eyes and stopped breathing.
