HEART OF MIDNIGHT

CHAPTER 1 : The beginning of it all

Staring into the night sky filled with brightly shining stars brought tears into her beautiful light blue eyes.

Eyes that will make you feel you're in a different world .

Eyes that will keep you transfixed at first look. Looking into those eyes will make you feel as if you were falling into an abyss you can't come out of.

She blinked back the tears which were forcing themselves to fall badly and smiled with no emotion.

The memories started to flood back and all her attempts to push them proved futile. She allowed them to flood her entire mind till she felt she could see them happening right Infront of her.

He was the only one who had ever loved her, who had stood by her, who protected her and who dared to turn her stony heart into one of flesh, who went against all odds to break the walls she had spent years building around her heart.

But now, she knew her heart will grow cold again. She would build those walls again...she did it before and she would do it again.

Her smile would grow cold and all this is because he had left her.

Yes, he left her alone in this unfriendly, inhuman, unfeeling and cruel world.

She remembered the first time they met. She was twelve and he was sixteen, four years older than her.

She stood out in the colourful park filled with brightly dressed kids in her all black chiffon dress with black heels, a black mask and dark sunglasses.

He was intrigued by her and walked towards her. He smiled cutely at her and she looked away shyly.

This made him want to know her more.

"I'm Niel" he said, holding out his hand to her. "I'm Midnight" she answered and took his warm hands in her glove covered ones.

He looked at the black gloves and smiled interestingly. "Black suits you " he said and she smiled shyly. Her first bright smile ever since the incident.

Seeing her smile, his lips stretched into a big goofy smile which made her heart stop for a second. His smile was hypnotic, she realised and looked away.

"Where are your parents ? Why are you in the park all alone ?" He asked and immediately, the smile vanished from her light blue eyes. They seem to grow darker with fear and anger.
