A Jump into the Past
In a hushed tone, Delphine looked into her mother's eyes.
She found the courage to ask the question that had been hunting her for years.
"Mom" she began softly, "I've always wondered why you left me on Earth to be adopted? After all, my sister stayed here. Was there a reason for it?"
Her mother sighed and her expression mirrored a deep sense of remorse.
"Delphine, my dear, it wasn't an easy decision for us. It's a long story" she explained, lowering her gaze.
"I'm ready to hear it" Delphine responded, "I've always been ready."
