Healer | Yuzuru Hanyu

Mia was a strong woman. Raising a child by yourself is never an easy task. Doing it while studying to become one of the best lawyers in the country is even harder. Her distrust in men isn't unjustified and for 8 years she kept as much distance from any member of the male species as possible. That's until a certain skater shows up in Toronto and turns her whole life around.

Stay

In the next few days, Mia got too used to having Yuzuru with her and definitely got used to sleeping in his bed.

After that first night, she didn't make use of that extra bedroom that he had so nicely prepared for her. Sleeping without him wasn't the same and deep down, she always justified it with the fact that it would most likely be temporary.

The Sendai shows were pretty much the same thing as what they had watched in Makuhari, not that she or Alex minded, because watching it was always an honor that they highly appreciated.

Going backstage was still weird for her, even if she knew most of the skaters by now, there was never too much time speaking or getting to know them to be confident enough with most interactions.

Mia often wondered what they thought of her and if they had any idea of her relationship with Yuzu.

Who was she fooling, the looks were enough to know that they probably knew that something was going on.

She heard more than once that Yuzuru rarely brought anyone but his family so everyone was very suspicious. It didn't help that she always had her boy attached to her hip.

Mia did meet Yuzuru's father on the day of the first show and he turned out just like Yumi, Welcoming and incredibly nice to her.

Dinner at the Hanyu household wasn't even as nerve-wracking as she initially thought. Mia was now very relaxed with Yuzuru's parents and had absolutely no problems being herself with them.

It was important, but at the same time, the lingering thoughts of her soon departure were always there.

On her last night in Sendai, after the third show, Mia was clearly more silent, more distant and Yuzuru noticed it since the morning.

At first, he ignored it, giving her the space to process her thoughts. When she was still like that hours later, when they had just come back after the last show in his hometown, it was when Yuzuru knew that he had to do something.

He took the opportunity of Alex being too distracted with the TV to approach her.

"Angel... I can feel you drifting from me."

"I... Yuzu..." Tears filled her eyes right away and he was quick to wrap his arms around her.

"My love, don't cry."

"I don't want to leave."

"I don't want you to leave either, but you have a life in Canada. It would be selfish of me to even mention or ask for you to stay."

"If only I spoke Japanese..."

"What are you talking about?"

"If I spoke Japanese, I could maybe get a job here."

Yuzuru stopped everything he was doing at that moment, he didn't expect her to be thinking about this, he didn't expect her to even be considering the possibility of living in Japan.

"Mia..."

"Sorry, it's dumb."

"You have to stop apologizing for no reason, it's not dumb. Are you being serious? You would move to Japan?"

"I have my life in Toronto... I can't... I shouldn't even be considering it... But..."

"I don't know what to say besides that if you wanted to live here, I could help you settle in. Some jobs don't require you to speak Japanese and you could always learn slowly."

"You know what happened the last time I trusted a man?"

Yuzuru flinched at that. This woman had been betrayed in the biggest possible way, it was only normal that she questioned her trust in Yuzuru now. If she was to sacrifice everything that she had managed to get in Toronto for him and things ended up badly... "

"I'm not him." It was all he said, not bothering to argue any further.

"I... I can't right now."

"I know."

And he did, if anything, maybe someday she could consider something like this, but it wasn't just about her. Mia had to think of Alex as well and the poor boy would probably have a hard time learning Japanese and adapting to their education system. "The door is always open, my angel."

"You think we will ever see you again?"

"I will make sure you do."

"Ask me to stay." She almost begged as tears came to her again.

"You know I can't do that, and you don't want me to do it either."

He was right because Mia probably wouldn't be able to deny him if he asked.

She was once again faced with the reality that she would change her life for this man.

On that day and after everything was packed and Alex was in bed, she was the one dragging him to bed, wordlessly trying to convey all of the hidden feelings that she couldn't put into words.

They spent way too much time admiring every inch of undiscovered skin, touching caressing, and enjoying it to the fullest.

It wasn't even just about pleasure anymore, it was about saying goodbye once again with an unpredictable future ahead of them.

Mia wasn't sure if another opportunity to be together would ever grace them, but what she did know was that she wouldn't forget those precious two weeks. She wouldn't forget his touch and she wouldn't forget his love.

Their lovemaking was more intense than ever before, consuming them in slow thrusts and filled with touches.

"My angel, Mia..." He had moaned out time and time again together with whispered words in her ears.

It took them both a while to recover after their climaxes settled, but once they did, Yuzuru just kept the caresses on her skin, mumbling sweet words and promises that he wasn't quite sure he would ever be able to fulfill.

"I will see you again." He ended up saying. "I will make you mine, I will find a way."

Inevitably, in the darkness of the room, tears fell from her eyes again.

Mia didn't doubt it and deep down, she hoped he wouldn't fail those promises.
